I asked the question in another thread but it doesn't get that many hits... so let me ask is this brand new thread

What can you tell me about Sea Foam?

its generally white in color and can be found on the sand after the tide goes out..

Blaze it works great, cleans out all the crap out of your engine. Just make sure you do an oil change once all the deposits run out.

it works good, I use it once a year on my car, makes a big difference in the way the car drives after having all the crap cleaned out of it.

and yeah, you put it in your oil (I only reccomend going about 500 miles or so and then changing your oil, it will remove all the crap) in your gas tank, and suck a bunch through your IM while revving the engine (or it will die) and be sure to take your time with it when sucking it in, you can hydrolock your engine if you get over zealous. when the smoke clears, the engine should be clean, just follow the directions and you will have a happy car.

What vaccum line are you using? I get that thing will end up running in every vaccum line attached to the manifold, so would I be better off disconnecting the line going to the piggyback?

Sorry.... that was a stupid question

Vaccum sucks in, doesn't push... so Sea Foam won't get in the other vaccum lines...

anytime my idle gets a lil bit erratic i sea-foam my car through a vacuum line and it works great!

i use it in all of my cars once a year.. the way i was told how to do it is slowly pour half of it into the vac line while someone is revving it to keep it running. than dump the rest in and let it stall. wait over night and start her in the morning. it will smoke like youve never seen before, take it for a ride and once it stops smoking, park it, let it cool, and change your oil and plugs. the car will run like brand new

you can use any vaccum line in the beginning of the IM, just so you get proper and even coverage. its best though, in terms of sucking, to use a line between the TB and IM because you will get greater vaccum there. you can use the return line from the valve cover but you need to open up to almost full throttle to get a good vaccum.

Here's a key - make sure it's a line that'll hit all the cylinders.

On the Subaru, the "use the brake booster" idea would only put Seafoam to ONE cylinder. So I located a vaccuum hose going to the TB that should spread it evenly.

PS - if your car is getting up there in mileage, you may not wanna use the oil portion. It can clean out sludge which is filling leaks/holes/etc. My Subaru has 100k, so I'm just going to run it in the vaccuum hose and a bit in the gas tank.

edit: also i understand where to put it in for the oil and gas ... but im still not to sure what hose to put it in ... anyone with a pic would be helpful ... i have an OZ by the way ...
