I ran sea foam on my 91 camaro at 230,000 miles all I gotta say is be prepared for pissed neighbors it makes a hudge cloud of black smoke go out your exhaust but the stuff works awsome. When you are done use some MMO in your gas to re lube your top end.

I wish I knew who decided that using seafoam makes things leak so I could kick him in the dick. Stupid rumour.

On high mileage engines it actually makes sense and is logical. That it happens to the masses.... no.... that it is capable of happening... yes. The same thing goes for when my engine shop teacher told us they used to put transmission fluid in and let the car idle. You can't do anything on high mileage engines because the sludge that forms is actually creating an internal gasket. Remove that film and the deterierated (sp?) stock gasket is gone and nothing to hold in fluids.

It ran awsome afterwards no leaks or anything.
I think the leak theory comes in with putting engine cleaner in your car before an oil change the stuff is made by gunk cant think of the name you can also use 1 qt of ATF fluid now this will clean your engine but cause it to leak and also may cause your oil pump to get clogged.

The reason that kind of product can cause a leak is the following.
On older, or high mileage engine, small cracks can start to appear. Even thought there is a crack nothing leaks out of it because the accumulated gunk clogged the crack and sealed it. Products like SeaFoam and others are designed and engineered to clean it up. So if your oilpan or anyother part of your block is cracked and clogged with gunk, the engine treatment will "theoricaly" clean the gunk out the crack and you will now have a leak.
The product doesn't crack your block, it simply cleans whatever clogs the crack.

Broke a plug wire and now its intermitent? Did you use dielectric grease when you put the plug wires on?
The wifes protoge stalled once immeadiately after I did the intake treatment and after that it belched out the smoke and has been fine since.
SeaFoam says O2 sensor safe on the bottle. And a bad sensor is just going to make it run rich anyways.

just some tips guys:
car is off:
remove the hose that is U shaped on the intake manifold
remove the hose from the valve cover to the intake pipe. (stick with me i know its weird)
attach the hose from the valve cover to the place where the u tube was. (the side going into the actual maifold not the metal piping.
put ur thumb over the end of the tube going to the intake manifold,
START CAR.
vaccum should suck on your thumb a bit. and then proceed to carfully dip the other end of the tube into the bottle down to about 2/3 of the can so it sucks in only that much.
have someone rev the car while pooring in, dont let stall.
then watch a big plume of smoke come out and keep revving the car up and down for the next 5 minutes. the smoke will subside after 10-5 minutes of idle and revving.

Yeah it just give you the advantage of not having to pour it into a tube, but rather just let vaccum suck it out. I had just replaced my TB so i just needed to clean that dammed intake mani etc. I GOT A TON OF SMOKE. my whole neighborhood was smoked out. I started rolling on the grass like i was in combat in Gears after throwing a smoke grenade.
