Well if your having any problem just re-check all of your leads to the ecu. Make sure they are all connected properly. Then disconnect your battery for at least 15mins. There should be a rough idle at the begining then make sure you do not over rev (keep low) for a couple of miles so that the ecu can figure things out. All done then.
As for your high rev, it could be that it's not connected right (like a normal start up of your lancer) because during your couple mile drive the ecu may act funny, low idle at stops (kinda like stalling low idle). Just double check it all.
