Help with ES 2008

I have a 2008 Lancer ES. I wanted to know if I should even bother upgrading it horsepower wise and what would I do? Like exhaust and intake first? or should I have gotten a gts or something? Also I wanted to get a new audio system I haven't the default no rockford ****. But I also wanted to upgrade that like speakers/cd player etc. And also have no idea where to start there

Thanks in advance sorry for being nubish.

the gts of the same year does not have more horsepower. it has the dress up stuff like the rocker panels and fog lights and such. the 09 gts does however have a larger and thus more hp of an engine. really theres not a lot you can do for upgrades hp wise. but you can go with a very nice aftermarket stereo system that is way better than the stock premium.

whenever you do that though, do not get the metra dash kit. the scosche version is made much better.

Drives: Traded in the 08 ES :(

Sorry to say that I had most of the bolt on parts on my old 08 ES, and noticed little to no gains. It is a tough nut to crack to squeeze anymore power out of it the simple and cheap way. Like the other said: TURBO is the only answer to truly get results that matter. By the time you pay for that, you might as well keep what you got, and just dump a nice sound system into it, tint the windows, and add some other parts that are for "show" or looks, rather then spend unnecessary money on trying to get power you will not ever accomplish.

Drives: 2009 Lancer ES-Sport

I bought a Lancer ES Sport in Novermber of 2008; about 9 months ago. Currently, it has close to 13,000 miles. In May of 2009, I went to the dealer for an oil change and tire rotation for approximately $60.00. The quote for my second service from the Mitsubishi dealer in a few months is close to $400.00 for a total of 3-4 hours of labor, according to the dealer. My mechanic coworker thinks I should only do oil change and tire rotation because the vehicle is entirely new. In short, I do not want the dealer to rip me off $400.00 for labor that they're not suppose to. Any advice? Thanks.

The car only needs an oil change and a tire rotation, nothing more. You can get that done cheaper at a mechanic.

If I do get it done at a non-Mitsubishi mechanic, would I break any warranties on the car? Thanks for responding!

^ No. Keep your all your receipts and you are fine. All you need is documentation that you go it done. This is a common question asked by everyone.

According to the warranty and maintenance manual, I'm suppose to get the following done:
1) change oil; 2)replace engine oil filter; 3)inspect disc brake pads and rotors for wear; 4) check brake hoses for deterioration or leaks; 5) inspect drive shafts boots for grease leaks and damage; 6) replace air purified filter.
I only want to do change oil because I drive a lot, and not the others because mine is new and I do not treat my car like a piece of crap.
If I can't find a cheaper deal, I'll probably go to Mitsubishi. I'll just tell them that I just need oil change although I think they'll try to scare me into getting all of the above done for $400.00 of which 75% of it would probably show up as "miscellaneous" on the receipt. Thanks again. If you have other advice, please respond. Thanks!
