It wouldn't fit!!! the difference is the bore... so when you align the cylinder 1 the second is almost aligned... the third isn't aligned... and the four chamber dont fit on the 92 93 94 block...
so that's a myth...
the DOHC head that fit is the 4G93 lancer GSR (1.8Turbo)... the 4G92 mivec and nonmivec...
the DOHC head can be found in trinidad & tobago, UK, NZ, australia, japan... but get any DOHC head for our cars is F#~|@ hard...
soon I'll get a evo 8 ecu into another mirage... and I'll post any info to help here... I'm thinking about swapping my evo 5 ecu to a evo 8 ecu too...

My bad, I meant that I called this company from mudpit performance. I was describing what I want my car to do by the end of this May. Well he said that a sohc is limited by the amount of power you want. But he said you can fit a evo 8 cylinder head on that kind of block "4G94" so I guess my excitement got to me. But I thought that the 4G94 block was the same as the 4g63, but the 4G63 was just a DOHC

You can know that by the block numbers... 4g9X engines are pretty much the same.. so you can swap parts from one block to another...
Does anyone have done the evo8 ecu swap for an NA engine???
I've only seen it on turboed cars

it would be beneficial but i dont see the point really for an 8 ecu on a na car. the reason why turbo guys do it is so that we can then see boost and have better tuning capabilities on our cars

Ok so where can I find an evo 8 ecu and for how much, they are really hard to find. And do you need an ecu harness to connect both of the ecu's together, or do you just remove the lancer ecu, and place in the evo 8?
someone mentioned earlier that you have to base the evo 8 ecu off your previous tunings on the lancer ecu.

Well this thread quickly took a left turn into "can I swap an Evo head onto my Lancer if I swap in the Evo ECU" land. Geez...
To answer some of the questions I've seen:
Swapping an Evo ECU into a non-turbo Lancer wouldn't be beneficial as the stock Lancer ECU can accommodate boost tuning up to around 7-10psi with EcuFlash, depending on the setup.
When you swap in the Evo ECU, you completely remove your stock Lancer ECU and the engine is controlled 100% by the Evo ECU. This is the case solely for manual Lancers. I can't account for auto Lancers.
After you swap in the Evo ECU you will tune the tables in EcuFlash to, more or less, look just like the ones from your tuned Lancer ECU.
The whole point of this ECU swap is to 1) Have an ECU that properly interprets boost to allow for accurate tuning, 2) Have an ECU that has larger tables to allow for maximum tuning potential for turbo'd Lancers, 3) To take full advantage of the continually growing wealth of knowledge provided by the many talented Evo ECU gurus that know every bit of code in there.
Come on, guys. Let's keep this topic focused and on point. This is hands down the best bang for your buck mod that can be had on a Lancer. The full tuning potential of the Evo ECU for the Lancer for under $300 (total cost for Tactrix cable, EcuFlash and Evo ECU itself). You can't beat that ROI!

Ok I have a question for ya senate, so since the evo ecu interprets boost correctly what load values are you hitting now? I know the lancer ecu for around 10 psi its between 110-120% right? So now is it anywhere near 200? or maybe like 160? Have my evo 8 ecu just sitting in my backseat but wanna learn how to tune on my stock ecu first, plus gonna install a evo maf when I do the ecu swap

I haven't done a datalog in some time, but IIRC I'm around 160-180% load at 10psi and 5500rpm.

Hey, Senate I found a company that has the 4g92 Mivec clip. And i was wondering if you think it would be possible to wire and evo 9 ecu up to tune. Since i know nothing about there stock ecu and i dont think ecu flash would work on it.
