Piggy Back install problems Please help

I recently purchased a v2 piggy back from someone on this forum. I got the directions on this forum and after i installed it my car idled at 600 rpm and my wideband reads 21.0 which is maxing it out. The car sounds like it has huge cams in it. Obviuosly this is not right. I have gone over the directions 4 or 5 times and i am pretty positive it is installed correctly. I dont know what to do! I wanted to see if anyone else had this problem and if there was possibly someone close to me in CT that installed one on their car and could possibly help me with mine.

I don't think your piggyback is for your car. It might be just for the base lancers. Unless they have them for the Evos too. Which i don't know if anywhere sells them except for RRM.

You might of bought the wrong piggyback for turbo applications. You never know people can make mistakes. As long as you have your piggyback you can put different roms on there since your lancer is N/A i would ask RRM for the rom.

^how is that relevant? lol

What kind of car do you have? Are you sure it's flashed for a manual or auto? All connections are good? Have you hooked it up to a laptop to see if it's reading RPM properly? Have you re-learned the idle properly?

As for the urinal rules, most guys put way too much thought into it.

It is a 2002 es. I was told that it was flashed for a manual. Will a tactrix cable work to see if it is reading rpm properly?

Did you not get the cable with the piggy? And the software? If not, I think it's just a plain serial cable.

hey i recently got a piggyback to its sounding like it has cams in it as well. it is also surging and turning off bouncing around from 2000 rpms back to 1500 then back up then back down. umm for your problem idk really but you might want to check for any vacuum leaks, spark plugs, o2 sensor uh.. its a start thats what im workin on at the moment. best of luck!

You need to get the cable and software, they probably have a map on it that's not compatible with the mods on your car. Better yet, mail it back to RRM and just have it re-flashed. It's $25.00 or something. I don't know if you can just buy the software...Contact Rock on the forum (might have no luck) or just go to the RRM site and email/call them
