should be easier, it isn't like your info screen is going to say works when you turn on your car.

Also you will just have to get them to flash it if there is a problem, and then any trace of it will be gone.

That sucks because this is my DD and 3 days w/o it is not gonna work lol. i would be willing to pay more too if it were through e-mail using software on a laptop and a cable.

well you would most likely need an obd2 cable and software on your laptop, and also you might need the MUT III program to get into the engine ECU. so yeah that would cost a fortune and even if you could get your hands on a MUT III program would be very difficult.

There will be nothing to hide. Works will take your ECU, hack it, modify it, and mail it back. There's no evidence unless starts looking through the code of your ECU (and that's not going to happen normally).

I agree - 3 days with no car is gonna be rough... but it's the price you pay.

My understanding is that it's not going to happen like that. Works has had problems in the past of other tuners ripping off their tunes. So now they use their own system of cracking the ECU.

Evo VIII is $500.
02-06 Lancer is $450 (currently on sale for $400).

I'd assume it'd be close to those.

Damn i'm excited about this flash! so i take it that mitsu wont be able to find out about the ECU hack right? kuz it would be bad *** if we could get away with this! haha

One more thing... Which bolt ons will be the best for this flash? I'd think that it would be intake, headers, and exhaust but thats just IMO. With these mods and the re-flash i'd say we'll be about 165-170 whp and 170-174 wtq. Wut do you guys think?

Info from the newest Works newsletter:

ECU Flash Development
Since we first got our hands on the 2008 Lancer (CVT & 5-speed), our engineers have been hard at work developing the WORKS FlashWORKS software for the new platform. While on the surface this may seem like a simple task, the reality is it can be a long and enduring process. Understanding the ECU’s codes, security features and rewriting the software so that the vehicle has consistent power gains across the entire power band without sacrificing reliability are all daunting challenges. The WORKS Engineering team is proud to say that "we are in" in ECU and nearing the finish line for the new Lancer and EVO flash. Keep your eyes on our website for more details.
