Generally, you pay a professional to do the tuning. Unless you're quiet smart about tuning.
Think of it like an SAFC - it comes untuned once you install it.

Ya once the high performance parts come out this should open the door to a nice reliable street car. (ie. no blown engines)

I dont know too much about EcuTek, still new to the whole tuner aspect...But like I said, i think these 08 lancers are gonna be a special breed, IE more hp than previous lancers.

Thats not what I meant, but I think you know that already...but in case you really didnt, I meant that these 08s are gonna see higher HP gains from aftermarket tech than the previous models...

Don't hold your breath... I have high hopes for the platform, but look at these stats:
SeRious08 - 2008 GTS
Modifications: RRM piggyback, RRM pulley, Apex'i N1 muffler
122.85 whp, 123.39 ft-lbs on DynoJet dynamometer (4th gear)
kmxxbadboy - 2008 GTS
Modifications: NONE
126.77 whp, 116.59 ft-lbs on DynoJet dynamometer ("D" mode of CVT)
That kinda scares me. Same type of dyno, same basic numbers. One's modded, one's stock.

Dammit Doug beat me to it, I was literally going to say "I won't be holding my breath". Something to consider, gains shouldn't be compared as a set number (ie. car X gained 5 hp, car Y gained 10 hp, therefore car Y is better) but as a percentage of the stock power. You can bolt an intake and/or an exhaust to a 400 hp Diesel truck and gain 20 hp but you won't notice it cause the truck already has 400 hp and weighs thousands of pounds. If an old lancer got 6 hp from an intake and exhaust (example only) and a new one got 8, they both gained the same percentage (5%) of power.

Thats why I said high performance as in a form of FI, not these little bolt on NA stuff, If we can get a few good turbo kits on the market and a good reliable way to tune the ECU or a standalone ECU, I will be happy. Even running 6psi of boost, until some internal parts come out mainly pistons to drop the CR later on(hopefully these engines have forged rods and such like the 4g64 so there is less to change out) this should help to get over 200WHP, I would be really happy.

I'd hope 200 whp would be obtainable since that was possible on the old motor.
