Eclipse head suffering from electrical gremlins

I have an 02 OZ with 4 speakers (no SunSoundLeather pkg) with an Eclipse CD4000 head and a properly wired amp/sub. Recently, I replaced the rear deck speakers, rewired the door speakers, and rewired the amp.. was in a hurry the first time, so it was a mess.

A few days after the reinstall, the head unit refused to power on. After much monkeying with rechecking all the splices, plugging, unplugging, fuse checking (both the underdash and the one under the hood in the yellow box), i managed to unplug the harness at the head unit with the ignition off, and plugged it back in the car running.

Voila! The radio works. But only until key is turned to off, or if I plug it in while the car is in ACC, and I start the car, the radio shuts off in between (and stays off)

I am fairly competent with my stereo install, but i'm a little shakey when it comes to electrical theory and what needs to be what voltage when..

I did break out the multimeter, and got this on the Yellow (constant) wire:

Key OFF: 14.54V (stable)
Turned to ACC: Slowly falls and stabilizes at 12.21V
Turned ON: Dips to 10V while starting, then stable at 14.4V

Also, now the Mitsu CD player wont power at all, no matter where the key is.

Any thoughts? I'm driving myself crazy pulling two screws, the unit, unplugging it, starting the car, and then plugging it in after i turn the key any time I get in the car.
