Disabling hard wired volume range limiter in Rockford System?

Has anyone established how to disable the hardwired volume range limitation that Mitsubishi had Rockford install into the 650W factory system? I'd like to be able to finally listen to my system at a normal level. I assume it's something in the AMP?

there is no limitation, its just not loud. 650 watts is the TOTAL MAXIMUM output, the REAL RMS output is mire like 250 or MAYBE 300 watts total....since there are 6 speakers and a sub or w/e, that power gets divided up by more speakers, meaning each speaker gets less power, a.k.a. not as loud. the amp is pretty much just for quality....

You are wrong sir . Many here have noted that it will start out loud and limit itself. You can find the threads on here...

Yes thats exactly what I'm talking about. It may be in the navi unit itself and not the AMP.

What inputs are you all listening to? CD/Music Server is quite loud for me, while radio and satellite are quieter. I certainly don't have a problem with it being too quiet. I just up the volume a few notches when on the radio/satellite.

Maybe try turning on/off the selection in the Nav unit for speed sensitive volume/EQ? I keep mine on, but to tell the truth, don't notice much of a difference either way.

Uh, triple post..

45 maxed on Sirius is the same as 30 on Sirius. It's not nearly loud enough. CD and AUX input aren't too bad but still I'd like the ability to go louder.

Just about to head to the dealership to get my blown sub replaced now.
