Component Install Question

So I am having issues getting my components installed. I made some 1" MDF spacers, but they still had a gap between the speaker and the door with the magnet hitting that bar in the door. How'd you guys make it work or have any ideas/pics.

components are a set of CDT CL-62

I don't get it. I just had a bracket that I bought online for like 10 bucks to put mine in.

just hack the factory speaker out of its plastic twist mount, screw the new speaker to that and twist it back into the door. No spacers needed and u dont have to screw into the door

I can't use the stock mount because A.) I want to keep the stock speakers for when I sell the car and B.) The spacer I made was already as big as the stock and it wouldn't fit. I needed an extra 1/4" of room. I got the stuff I need to make it work for about 10 bucks at home depot yesterday. Now I just need the time to install it.

I've seen plenty of people use that method with speakers with stock or less mounting depth. I'm getting frustrated enough with these speakers that I'm thinking about just selling them and hooking up the sub with a line out converter.

well i guess I dont know what you are talking about because you definitely cant fit a 6.5" speaker without using a spacer and cutting the door where the plastic twists and locks in. I have T.M.A. speakers which is made by JL, and I used to work at a car shop, so I think i know what i am doing.

Just take out the stockers, cut the metal that holds the plastic speaker on so you have 6.5" diameter all around, and use a spacer....its really easy.

clearly not 'cause all i've done and many others have too is cut the plastic piece that the stock speakers use and screw ur speaker into those and twist back into the holes. U don't need to cut, or drill into ur new car. I don't doubt that u know what ur doing but these speakers aren't exactly mounted like other cars so u may not have seen it before

what?? i want to see pictures of some 6.5s mounted using the stock speaker holder. its def not possible unless the speakers are small! and also I have NEVER heard of anyone else doing what you supposedly did. and a lot of cars use twist mounts like this, thats why you have to cut the door! and FYI, i used to work in a car audio shop so I saw a lotttt of speaker mounting configurations.
