worth the upgrade?

Hey all I have a 09 GTS and have the sun and sound package witht the rockford system. I was thinking of changing my componants to 2 pairs of MTX Thunder dome axial TDX6502. There rated at 60watts RMS. I know thats probably way more then the rockford even if its suppose to push 650 watts total system. I find that the rockford system is ok, but I would want to have something a little more.

also has anybody heard of someone amplifying the rockford system, will the stock componants hold up?

Thanks

any input will help

The MTX would sound better but only get same power as stock with a direct swap. IIRC, the RF system door speakers are 25 watt rms. You can replace the stock amp with a good 4 or 5 channel amp, but you'd wanna change out the radio at the same time. Again, it would sound better, but you would have to have the gain super low to not blow anything.

Best bet is what I'm doing/done. Live with it until you save enough to install a good setup. Also, you can't replace JUST the radio because the factory amp needs the stock radio to turn on on the RF system. I'll post pics this weekend after I finish my install. Got delayed because of stupid work.
