Question Remote Start On 5 Speed

Anyone know where to find a remote start for a manual transmission, i'd like to get one but every shop i call says they cant do it on manual transmissions?

actually that is a bunch of crap cause i got the compustar car alarm that also comes with the remote start and i have the remote start hooked up on my car

Drives: Boosted 08 Lancer GTS

They make them. Code Alarm, Skytek, AutoPage, and AIG have them. Most shops won't do it for insurance reasons.

u can do it just bypass the neutral safety switch and leave ur car out of gear AT ALL TIMES

i always leave it in neutral anyway so i wouldnt be too worried about it. i guess i would have to install it myself.

what i would recommend doing is going to a shop that you have done alot of business with in the past, and talk to the guys there if you cant get it done in the shop i am willing to bet anyone of them will be willing to do it on the side for you. Believe me when i say that as long as you took care of your installer in the past and gave them business they will help you out with out a problem.

its definately possible.. my compustar alarm and start is capable of it...it's a little more work but it can be done..

i say call em out when they say it cant be done

yea i have viper alarm system, no problem, it does have to stay in neutral but i use to do that anyways so no change for me, where i live a lot of shops will do it with no problem

I have the compustar and have no problems. It is also my turbo timer. I would give them a call and maybe they can piont you to a local shop that is authorized and capable to do this.

haha, working at a shop[ that installs these...we say that sometimes too on vehicles we don't want to do (standards) a Standard Chrysler vehicle can take a Pro installer 8 hours to do, its not that they can't do them, they just don't want to (for the going price anyways)

i heard you cant put it in a manual. casue if it was in gear and you started it your car would jump and probably hit something.
