Very carefully nahh, just cut them out of the 1/4" MDF, then routered out the back to put the brushed aluminum panels in, and carpeted it normally, I used a lighter to singe the carpet around the edges so it won't peel back.

Well, so far it looks like this install is taking me to world finals for sound quality. I need 16 points, and I'm going to a double point competition this weekend, where I'm virtually guaranteed first place. after that I have a week off, then a triple pointer, and then another event, which I think is another triple pointer.
After this weekend I'll be booking my hotel room in KC for mid october.
Anyone else go to the drive in because it sounds better than the theatre?? hehe.
Soon to come will be pics of the trunk lid, which will mirror the bottom, with a small 2X30 watt amp in the middle, and some 7X10 componants on either side (yes, that's right, DLS makes a 7X10 that fits in a 6x9 hole, and is rated as the best 6x9 replacement on earth)

Damn thats great! Did IASCA change the SQ format to be performance only? When I was dabbling had to give up cause of the heavy weight of install gimmicks were fishman and other spent 10X as much there as on performance

Iasca is still all about install for the most part. butthe rules are changing and they are awarding points more freely for non-extreme installs. I think they have realized that the average consumer and therefore the new competitors can't afford to spend 10 grand on install every year.

the sub sounds great, it's ported now for driving around and for the SPL portion of Iasca competition, sealed for SQ judging still.
