haha well the reason you've never heard of it is because i believe i will be the first to do it in a lancer cvt maybe dont quote me. Im going to make some upgraded parts and internals to give the cvt more strength to be able to handle a turbo application.

Hi new guy here.

Thats great that pistons and rods are the same but does the header/manifold have the same bolt pattern? Im looking to make my own kit as well and didnt want to spend more time without my car by having parts fabricated.

well i worked/studied all last year at RIT (mechanical engineering major) with fabrication/design/engineering, and used CNC machines and mills. I did a fair amount of CAD and hands on experience with metal working and milling, materials testing and materials technology. So im fairly new in experience but highly educated about it, so i have more knowledge then the average do it yourself in your garage person, but maybe not as much as say ams or a bigger company like that.

from what I have compared between both the C-SRT4 and Lancer service manuals the heads are the same.

ok here is also what you need to find out. the bore and stroke may be the same and infact it is but the pison head is the thing. is it taller or shorter then the lancers pistons. if its taller you can break a rod bend a valve lots of variables. my dad said to call hyndai they are how made the designs for the caliber and the 2.4 in said car in conjuntion with chrysler and mitsu. but i still wanna know why a caliber r/t can make 178hp and the 09 GTS only has 168hp?

the dodge caliber r/t is rated at 172HP and 165 lb*ft of torque. where we have 168 hp and 167 lb*ft of torque.

"The R/T model has a 172 hp (128 kW) 2.4 L version of the GEMA engine"

according to automotive.com we have the same bore and stroke as a 2010 dodge caliber srt4. this only goes for the 4b12 guys.

the application of srt4 internals will be awesome for turbo but not so much for N/A

srt4 compression ratio is 8.6

Idk about swapping the internals over from a csrt4 to a lancer. But I know that the csrt4 motors are really strong I own a 08 csrt4 and I put down 440whp without any problems and as far as the motor going past 400whp people are blowing headgasket and blowing motors so from what I read if you do head studs and gasket you should be good to go. I know there's two shops making well over 500whp on the stock long block with arp headstud and gasket. If you plan on turboing your lancer and you can swap the internals I think that will be a great upgrade.
