Creating your own Exhaust manifold

I found a header flange for the EVO X and want to create my own turbo manifold to save some money.
I herd that if you purchased a 4G94 flange and weld it to a 4G63 aftermarket manifold it will work perfect.

Anybody know what I can weld the EVO X flange to? That's if the EVO X flange fits into the 4B11.
Has anybody done it before?
This will be an easier solution to make a turbo manifold compared to creating your own piping and welding it.

Why not? If the EVO X flange can bolt up right to our engine I could just get a cheaper exhaust manifold and cut the flange off and weld the EVOX flange.
Another option I could take wuld be to design my own turbo header and build it but that would be a lot harder.

Thanks to the ones leaving positive comments on how to create a manifold.
To the ones that belive it shouldn't be done, could you give any explanations or opinions?

I found one that is 5 bucks more expensive but the company that make it looks reliable. If anyone knows if it fits the 4B11 engine please let us know. I might just buy it this week and see if it works.

Why don't you go to a parts store and see/buy the OEM gaskets and see if they match up?
Then return them.

I actually just received the exhaust manifold flange and placed it on top of my stock header and the 4 holes as well as the holes with the screws line up perfectly. The only difference is that the evo x flange is a little thicker but apart from that it is the same.

I also received a turbo flange for a 16G evo 8 for free with the evo x manifold. From the looks of it the flange of the evo 8 turbo is the same as the evo X turbo but I'm not sure.

How much do you think a shop would charge me to create a turbo manifold if I have these two pieces? I'm also thinking of getting an inexpensive turbo manifold and cutting off both flanges and have a shop weld the flanges.

I have a friend who did this on his older lancer and it looks pretty good.

My goal is actually to build my own turbo kit with a custom made manifold along with an evo x turbo, evo x intercooler pipping kit, intercooler, evo X downpipe.... This is of course assuming that there is no fitment problem for the pipping kit and intercooler.

I know theres is other parts and I have them figured out as well except for the water cooling of the evo x turbo which I haven't thought about yet.
Any advice you can give me will be great.
