lol why BS? i mean if he isnt turboed, then yeah he lied, but its still a good idea. all a shop needs to know is where the exhaust ports and bolt holes are and they can create a header....

if you take a gasket to a muffler shop they cant do squat without a flange.. the flange is already pre cnc cut with bolt holes and ports done.. also a turbo manifold isn't something just any muffler shop can do.. well properly... its why most performance shops charge around a grand if not more for them.

well what i meant was, they can take the gasket, know the size of it and where all the holes are and everything, then get a flange made from a machine shop for the customer or something like that....

What kind of boost are you planing on running? Also have to think about fuel, headgasket, headstuds and all other supporting mods.

Exactly! Fuel pump, injectors, maybe studs, clutch, and possibly rescale the MAF. Going to have to find somewhere to tap into for the oil line, and have it return from the turbo into your oil pan. There's much more stuff, but I can't list much off the top of my head because I just woke up.

Im having this same dilemma, turbo manifold for my 09 gts. I think the route im going is a evo x flange welded to a 4g63 manifold with a 16g tdo5 flange for the inlet.

Ok correct me if i'm wrong, but doesnt the X manifold totally bolt up to the 4b11/4b12? Why not just use an evo X stock manifold, turbo, and then just change out the wastegate spring and custom route the exhaust.?? Thoughts?
EDIT - an 08 OEM evo X manifold from RC Hill mitsu is $386. A heck of a lot cheaper than going custom.

i know xtremeboost used a stock evo x turbo and the car blew and i know rrm uses a 16g evo 3 turbo, so im assuming it would be a safer bet to go with a 16g turbo app. maybe im wrong though. A stock evo x manifold would work nicely but i hadnt seen RC Hill mitsu for only $386 all the ones ive seen have been close to 800 and up and that is if a 16g bolts tot he stock evo x mani. I can get a custom routed exhaust fabricated for a decent price.

if you want an evo X flange and a Evo X turbo flange I got them for sale. PM me. By the way the turbo is an evo 8 or 9 16 G flange but it is identical to the evo X turbo flange.

Manifold has nothing to do with blown engine. That was purely misuse. If the X manifold bolts right up, then thats the cheapest/most effective way to go. Just get a turbo for the manifold (or use the evo turbo and change out the WG spring, you dont want the evo amount of boost going into the lancer engine haha), and you're good to go.
