Turbo / Supercharger setup?
Well I wanted to ask everyone out there when they think a turbo/supercharging setup will be available for the 2008 Lancer. This includes the aftermarket magicians, when will there be a FI available for this car?

im guessing not for a few months atleast. Most companies dont have the time with the cars yet to develope FI. I definitley would a set up though, bring the puny 152 up to hopefully something like 250+.

Seeing RRM work, I'm guessing a few months before they get a kit. The Lancer just came out, so it's still pretty new.

but all us guys who just got one don't want to wait a few years. we want to do it now, especially since every one knows that you could just improv your own turbo on to pretty much any asian car if you know what you're doing. with all the space inside this engine bay, if the car gets support i think the FI mods will come out rather quick.

it really sucks that the Cali lancers are like 147hp, really hoping for some extra boost to put me at almost 250hp.... even that sounds weak (especially coming from a bone stock 306hp Z). Where have the best turbos come from for past lancers?

The Cali comes with 143hp...I can't wait for a turbo that will be so nice. Even a Catback would be nice right now...especially with that gigantic 27 pound muffler.

if you guys are wanting power now, why not just do a custom kit?

That's what I said. We all could do a custom kit but since we for the most part probably aren't expertly trained in installing things like that, we won't want to start drilling holes in to our engines and connecting potentially explosive devices to them unless we have a professional guarantee that it will work.
At least that's why I haven't done it. Yet.

For the most part you can do all custom work. Have a shop build the kit for you. They ARE expertly trained (should be) to do that kind of work. But RRM has also said that the ECU is a pain to work with, so tuning for a shop might be hard and cost a lot. Intake just needs a tube and filter (and adaptor for the pieces), but it's also been said that even that might need ECU work. Exhaust is just a muffler welded onto custom piping by a shop. That seems to be the easiest and should cost much less than an aftermarket full catback for the same gains.

I don't know about the exhaust system either. That Muffler may be huge for a reason. The 07 Dodge Caliber has the same system under it and I haven't ever seen any custom parts for it. Of course it probably would be fine with any kind of exhaust, it's just that I don't personally know. I don't know a whole lot about cars and I am often broke so I lack access to a Dyno or anything to even begin work with an ECU.

custom kit is the way to go. start you research atleast, don't be lazy and just wait for someone else to put together a kit, which may not be the best option anyways.

you can always put the one that the evo will come with later on.... thats my idea, so I dont have to pay the money for a evo but still have a evo engine.
