painted ac lines

Has anyone or anyone thought of painting the ac lines. Not the rubber part but the nasty off chrome parts. They get dirty so fast I was thinking about painting them to match my engine bay... good idea or bad?

they fluctuate in temperature quite a bit and get condensation on them, would the paint last long under those conditions?
