Knocking Please help me understand

So i think i have a basic concept of what knock is but i would like someone that has a good understanding of what it does, why it is harmful and what to do to fix it i just logged my evo for a trip around the block and it reported about 25 counts of knock at one point

When your engine is running hotter than normal, it will cause detonation if too much knock counts.
