re tune for more boost?

my car is currently tuned to 23 psi, and the person that sold me the evo said its a safe " " tune. Im debating if I should re tune it for more boost, or if it would be a bad idea. the car is fairly modded but has stock internals.

who will tune your car? You can't just up the boost without knowing the basics. You' probably are not where near max idc but it's good to know where you are so you don't run out of fuel. I'm sure it's a quality FMIC. Cams? You could go up to maybe 25-27psi, but you might need injector and better fuel(fuel rail, injector size, alternative fuel)

You could run much more boost, but will you detonate, have enough fuel etc etc...fuel is probably at this point with your mods the most important factor. But yes, you could get away 1-3psi with a good tune.

Hey bud, based on what the car had when I first did it (Adam), it was safe for his mods and boost level. Things may have changed and/or parts may or may not have been added, but generally with more boost/mods to get the most out of the car, a retune is in order.

Yeah when i get some $$ i want to swing by you and tell me what you think.honestly the car runs great, so idk if it would be stupid to re tune, but what i was thinking is it could be re tuned to handle a little more psi, im assuming thats how it works at least, im a diesel person so im learning haha

The ability to safely turn up the boost would depend on the tune itself. It may be fine, but if you are at the limit of the load scaling in the fuel/timing maps, it would be a bad thing to up the boost. You'd really need to reference logs and the maps to get a real opinion from anyone.
