It was glued on for a long time but I ran all over the load limit of 380kpa, I removed the honeycomb and now I'm in the 365kpa area with a little more room for growth.

So does removing the honeycomb free up power? After a retune of course. Does it make driveability worse?

I see, yeah i'd like to know as well? Is there any dangers to just straight up removing it?

The car is my daily driver, I wouldn't remove the honeycomb if I wasn't confident that I could dial the tune back into perfection. The point of removing it was three fold:
1 - reduce a possible inlet restriction
2 - remove the possibility of sucking the honeycomb into the turbo
3 - lower to load seen by the ecu for headroom (preparing for race gas boost)
I came to EVOm from 3si.org and have had a high hp 91 dodge stealth r/t tt for a very long time and did quite a bit of experimenting with how to go fast on the stock ecu/mas. The 3000/Stealth ECU/MAS is very similar and I have a few more tricks up my sleeve
the car will go 9's on the stock ecu/mas, I promise!

Hi Mellon.
I read, without the honeycomb the MAF works worse than with.
Because there is to much troubled air to read the mass exactly.

Hey dawnduran it does alter the signal, I mentioned the load changing already but the driveability after retuning it is just like stock. I cannot feel a difference. I'm not telling everyone they should do this mod, just sharing what I've done.
Keep in mind there's a lot of theory on EVOM. You shouldn't believe everything you read, sometimes you have to test things for yourself to find out the truth. There's a bunch of self proclaimed experts on here that haven't accomplished a thing, they just talk about it.
I tend to ignore the gospel and find things out for myself.
