manual boost controller @ 23psi

and when you're done, let me tune it to extract the power, the stock tune is horrible. I have a link in my sig that explains the process and software/hardware required. I recently added a video tutorial to make it even easier.

the cams might not be necessary on your IX

The right rear wheel was busted, control arm etc... not sure what else, I really didn't want to look at it The good news is that nobody got hurt and I suspect the car can be fixed.

Wow thats crazy i just did the same thing a lil over a month ago to the same side n the car still isnt fixed yet becuz im waiting on parts to be shipped . There was no body damage tho. I work at a body shop so i am repairing everything myself. I got a lot of my parts off ebay from evos being parted out i saved a ton of $$$$$.......For one evo stock axle they wanted over 700 bucks from Mitsubishi..haha fook dat!

Well with that said lol i wanted to say thank you for putting this thread together bcuz i have learned a lot reading this and every time i had a question in my head i would just scroll down n there was the answer! Awesome job Mellon!!

got the EVO out of the shop Friday night, installed the BR twin walbro and 1000cc injectors. I have them pretty much dialed in but let me tell you, it's very tricky tuning for that second pump coming on with boost. It makes for a pretty funky fuel map.

I'd say the tune is about 90% done, just working on some part throttle issues. I'm starting to use Logworks so I can dump everything into a table but there's a flaw where it clips the load at 220kpa so I can't see beyond that just yet. Asmodeus is helping me out with logworks since he's got lots of experience with that issue, so I'm sure I'll get it sorted out soon.

I did a few DLL pulls and I'm seeing ~ 500awhp on average via DLL, that's down about 25awhp but I have to keep in mind that when I was seeing 525awhp it was 20-30* outside and now it's in the 70* area so I'm sure that's going to have some impact.

well I've been putting this off forever simply because I haven't had a reason to yet. I decided that before I do the built shorty/head/cams and pump then race gas boost levels I better secure the stock MAS screen before it gets sucked into the turbo. I picked up some general use epoxy from Advance Auto. I pulled the air filter off and ran a bead all around the outside edge of the honeycomb where it meets the MAS plastic. I noticed the honeycomb was rotated to the left a touch so I straightened that up first.

I suspected this would change the tune slightly and boy was I right. My mid trim went from 102 to 71 and I I was pig rich at WOT, into the 9's AFR. I pulled a log and saw that my peak load went from a previous high of 345 to a new high of 375! I did some cruising and dialed the mid trim back in...I ended up almost exactly 100cc higher than before to lean it back out. I wound up with the mid at 96 which is close enough. I went WOT and by mid range the AFR was slightly lean and by high rpm it was unacceptably lean. I added 2 fuel in the mid range and 4 fuel high rpm range and got my AFR back where it was.

I did a few 3rd gear pulls and 1/4 mile runs and everything is just about perfect. My laptop battery died (forgot to take my power inverter) but it just need one more adjustment and it should be spot on again.

So it seems by putting a bead around the outer edge of the honeycomb it's forcing more air through the center of the MAS where the airflow sensor resides, thus it's seeing more air than ever, an unfortunate side effect.

I may simply remove the honeycomb altogether and tune around it the way I have with my Stealth TT (almost identical ECU/MAS) but I'm hesitant to do anything that my customers wouldn't feel comfortable following. I don't want to get so far off the beaten path that I alienate my customers. It's important to me that they can look at my setup and say "that's not too complicated to clone for my own car"

I've let the boost spike up before and I hit a 380kpa limit to what the ECU can log and now with the load at 375 it's going to get real interesting when I do the shorty/head/cams. I know that by removing the honeycomb the MAS will see much much less airflow so I think I can go much further with the stock MAS than where I am currently.

the engine bay is kind of dusty right now after sitting in the body shop for a month...been working on other things:

I finished the fuel tweaking this morning, slightly leaner across the board:
