Which Motec for EVO VIII ?
I'm trying to find the right one for my Evo, so which one is it ? M800 OEM ? M400 ?
Could someone please post pics of the Ecu from different views, I'd like to see the connectors/pins.
I'm going with motec, because the one who will work on my car likes motec more than any other ecu.

You have two options.
Either you go for the M800 OEM which will plug into ur standard ECU or any of the universal M400/600/800 and have a plug n play harness made. The M800 OEM will have the same pin-outs as your original ECU. The universal M400/600/800 will have 2 connectors from which you can wire to whichever car you decide to use it in.
The M400/600/800 have the advantage if you do have an intention to transfer the ECU to any other cars. With the OEM, you are pretty limited in that respect. The M800 OEM has the same spec as the universal M800 so the main difference is in the number of auxilliaries if you do go with the M400/600.

So you are saying the M800 and M400 have the same tuning features such as anti-lag, traction control........etc? If they are different will the M800 be over kill for an evo 7? Just want to make this clear cause also I plan to buy a motec ecu in the near future.

The features offered by the M400/600/800 are essentially the same, except for the number of injector drivers. Auxilliary features such as anti-lag and traction control are available via upgrades for all the ECU. Most of the guys I know are using M800 on their Evos so it's not overkill at all, just gives you a lot of flexibility when swapping the Motec into another car with more than 4 cylinders. For more information, you can refer to www.motec.com

I know this is a bit general, but how difficult would it be to learn how to tune the evo using motec? I've been looking at the M800 ECU...to save money from having them to make a harness. Anyone know the pricing on the M800 ECU, i havnt seen anything posted, i just says comming soon. Is this the same unit used on the FQ400? Thanks
