DYNO 05' GSR w/ apexi catback, boost controller, and AFC. is it worth it?
guys im wondering if its worth the money to dyno/tune my 05' at tuning technologies? i have the basic mods currently (stock airbox, stock blow-off, stock downpipe/cat). currently tuning an evo at tuning technologies runs about 150-160 an hr. should i take the time to dyno it now to see the results of the apexi catback at certain boost levels tuned with an AFC or should i just save the dough and buy a DC Sports downpipe/cat delete for $200. So far i've done some 3rd gear pulls and tuned myself using my pocketlogger on 91 oct and am holding about .94 v safely with about 17 degrees max timng at the top of 3rd @ 1.4-1.3 bar
p.s. i know i should have dynoed the car @ stock without catback, but i was anxious to feel for an improvement after the install on my butt dyno.
Money also played a factor because i wasn't positive TT would let me do the 20 min swap while the car was still strapped down.
some good incite would be appreciated. thanks fellaz

I didn't know a downpipe + test pipe was only $200, but if you're going to install that eventually, you should go ahead and do it now, then go to the dyno. If you're already able to tune it well with the pocketlogger, I don't know that the dyno will help much. It may ensure that your readings and interpretation of those readings are accurate and actually making more power, but the dyno won't be as useful as if you didn't have a logger. I have an S-AFC, but no logger yet, so I'm not able to really use it or tune, so a dyno session would do me wonders.

here are my logs so far from my pocketlogger logger. i made some changes accordingly to the 1st log, but that might have been a mistake cause it wasn't on a perfectly flat road.RPM TIMING O2V
2809 12 .92
3285 7 .94
3515 6 .96
4062 6 .96
4812 7 .96
5070 7 .96
5348 8 .98
5570 8 .96
5781 10 .96
6046 8 .96
6281 10 .96
6503 12 .96
6718 13 .98
6511 14 .98
Looks like timing was pulled around 6000 but was it a rich timing pull or what? seems it can be leaned out more gor o2V to be around .92-.94, but i wanna play it safe with those who have more evo experience than i do.
i logged this on a road that wasn't so flat as well. it was mainly straight with a slight decline (freeing up load), but i didnt think it would matter too much.
here is a log before i made some changes in a flat road off alessandro on riverside, not sure if should have changed my setting based on the logs above but should have reffered to these previous ones instead
3847 5 .94
4035 7 .94
4375 7 .94
4527 7 .94
4820 8 .94
5132 6 .94
5410 5 .94
5699 8 .94
5972 10 .94
6128 9 .94
6214 10 .94
6355 11 .94
6488 12 .94
6589 14 .94
6703 15 .94
6824 16 .94
6679 17 .96 then i let off
i can see timing being pulled around 5900-6150 range so i richend it up there as well as the 5410-5600 area. will timing be pulled do to a rich condition?

you can get the DC sports downpipe with a built in cat delete for around 200-230 bucks. full 3 inch. its a great deal considering its all one peice.
