Psh, a SEAL could run circles around a Green Beret, do his mom, eat his lunch, run a fifty-mile hike, wrestle ten alligators at once, do his mom again, destroy an aircraft carrier with an inflatable raft and a Nerf gun, win a staring contest with Chuck Norris, do his mom, and then he'd start kicking ass.

If you're going to buy a PS3, download all of the demos for games first, don't just run out and buy them. That will prevent you from buying crappy games, which the PS3 has a plethora of (haven't bought a new game for mine since GT Prologue, which sucked ass in its own right. If you really have to buy a PS3, I'd recommend that you buy BluRays instead of games. I'm dying to get the new Star Trek movie on BR.

I have had (1) PS3 and now (2) XBox 360's. The only thing that is better about the 360 is that XBox Live is night and day better than the PSN. Other then that, the PS3 is definately a better overall purchase. I had to buy $140 worth of extras with my 360 just to equal what you get WITH the PS3.
Pickup the Call of Duty series and Assasains Creed to get you started. Tough to go wrong with any of those .

Sticking to exclusives, cuz I trust you know enough about what's out since you already had a 360...
MGS4 - great purchase, lots of replayability
LittleBigPlanet - very fun game, especially if you have some friends to play with
Uncharted - great game, good humor and story
Near future:
God of War 1 & 2 are about to be re-released in upgraded form on a Blu-Ray, with a demo for God of War 3. No brainer.
God of War 3 - needs no explanation
Heavy Rain - it's a love it or hate it thing, but I'm really looking forward to this. If you never played Indigo Prophecy, go buy that for $4 in the bargain bin.
Uncharted 2 - more of the above, plus some new multiplayer modes
That's all that comes to mind at the moment. If I come up with something else, I'll post it.
PS - buy the cheapest one you can (only difference is hard drive size) and then your first purchase should be a laptop hard drive (SATA). I grabbed a 320 gig off Amazon for $70. Now I store all the music and movies I want on that thing. I really use it as a media player way more than I do for games these days.

PS - did some cleaning already. Left up the one and the thread-starters response.
He wants a PS3. Any further "get a 360" posts will be deleted.

well the only ones the gamestop has in my area is the 120 gig and I don't really want to get one that has been used because of obvious reasons.
Anyways, I see you listed Uncharted but to be honest it feels like a Tomb Raider rip-off so I'll hold off on getting that unless they have a demo for the game to play.

I'm a big fan of Resistance 1 and 2, and the online multiplayer for 2 is a lot of fun.
The Ratchet and Clank: Future series is pretty sweet.
Army of 2 is a lot of fun.

Well, if you need more than 120 gig, it's nice to be able to swap out so easily. I have a ton of stuff saved on my HD, so I needed to go bigger. You can get any size SATA drive and then use the stock HDD as an external (I currently have my 40 gig PS3 drive that way).
Obviously Uncharted isn't going to be for everyone. I was just tossing out some games I enjoyed. Could be a demo, I can't recall. I Gamefly-ed it, since that's how I get most games I play these days.

Scrolling through the exclusives list, the ones that jump out at me
Heavenly Sword - fun "God of War" clone. Does some interesting stuff.
inFamous - decent superhero game with lightening powers and good/evil storylines
Killzone 2 - I wasn't floored, but it's a decent FPS
MAG - gotta love 256-player battles...
Motorstorm (and sequel Pacific Rift) - good rentals
Resistance 1&2 - see Killzone
Valkyria Chronicles - amazing "painted" graphics, good RPG/RTS/war game
That was just sticking to the ones I have experience with...

are the DLC the same as XBL in terms of having to pay for them?

I dissagree on a few points.
Little Big Planet- Was not interesting at all I can't understand why people like this game.
Pain- Even with the Daxter character I downloaded, the game was fun for about 5 minutes. Then you're just doing the same thing.

Ragdoll Kung-fu: I picked up Ragdoll Kung-fu when I saw in the notification bar that they were giving it away for free for one day. Lots of fun for a cheap game. Fun multiplayer options too. (no online play though)
Stardust: An excellent arcade game. Fun multiplayer mode too. (again no online play)
