Yes it was better. The only SUV that came close surprisingly was the Rav 4. The Ford Escape and the Mazda carbon copy were HORRIBLE around the track. I thought i was gonna die.

It does a good job of reinforcing my believe that every vehicle Mitsubishi makes except for the RA/Evos are bad, and should be shunned.

No, it should be any U.S. derived Mitsubishi's should be shunned. I want everything they have overseas. Heck even the overseas Galant looks good and I bash on the US versions all the time.

Not too bad....
My parents have an '08 outlander (with the V6) and it's fun to drive. Ride is very nice considering the price segment that the car is in. Definitely handles well for a smallish SUV. It has plenty of power for what it is. That being said, a 250-280ish HP V6 would be nice... not sure if I would want the evo's engine in that sort of car... especially with the evo's gearing... gas mileage would be... um... not so cool (especially costly when using premium).

Did u you that in 2002 Mitsu made an "Evolution" model? It had a detuned turbocharged 4G63 and AWD, making 240 HP and 253TQ. It was named Airtrek Turbo R. One of my Jamaican friends drove one when he was back home and said that thing moved. I dunno about gas milage though

For 2005 model year Mitsubishi also released an European version of Outlander called Outlander Turbo: http://www.autoblog.com/2004/09/27/o...ng-mitsubishi/ but it wasn't as potent as the Japanese Airtek Turbo R counterpart, it "only" had 200HP. But still, Mitsu releases a lot of cool, small production run vehicles such as these, I just don't understand why they don't try to do it here in USA. I mean, if they can release an Outlander Turbo model in such small market as Belgium, why not USA? Only thing that comes to mind is that Mitsubishi has a much stronger brand recognition overseas...

I didnt know that, thanx for the info. I guess another reason why they didn't bring them here aswell is because no one was really making boosted SUV/crossovers so they didn't feel the need to. But now we are seeing more FI SUV's in the market so u never know what might happen.

Whoa...
I think it's a cool idea to use small styling cures on every vehicle, like the grills on BMW's, or even Pontiac's. But damn, to use the exact, COMPLETE front end on what seems is going to be the whole line up I think is a stupid idea. But, I'm nobody, so whocares.

Edmunds already posted info on the Outlander GT... It outhandles all of its competitors with ASC off on the slalom
http://blogs.insideline.com/straight...lander-gt.html
now all they need is an Outlander model that could keep up with the X5M, X6M Lol!

I was planing on getting a used outlander early next year, looks like I may have to get a brand new one.
This front end seems to fit the suv more than the car IMO.
