2010 Mitsubishi Evo MR Limited (Sunroof and no rear wing)

http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/27/f...lancer-lineup/

Remember the Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart Sportback we showed you back in October? The one that debuted in Paris? The one that we lusted after for its hatchback practicality and Ralliart brawn? The one that the good folks from Mitsubishi had promised we'd be getting here in the States this summer as an early 2010 model? Well, Mitsubishi has delivered. Sort of. A few Mitsu reps drove down to Irvine from Cypress with a genuine 2010 Ralliart Sportback. And not only that, but they dragged along an Evo GSR and an all-new MR Limited as well.

The Ralliart Sportback drew a lot of attention for its shape, but the Limited was the one that caught our eye. It's a regular old MR with a few differences. In place of the Alcantara bits, Mitsubishi has gone all-cowhide inside. There are also a few additions to the standard options list, including an Evo-first moonroof. Out back, the car has gone undercover by foregoing the large wing that has heretofore characterized the Evo sedans. Sounds like the Evo MR for grownups. Mitsu's reps remained tight-lipped on the details, but pricing is likely to top $40,000 for this model. We didn't get as many shots as we would have liked, but we did manage to get a few that we've assembled in the gallery below. As soon as we get more details, we'll fill you in.

Update: It's now called the MR Touring package and is up on the Mitsubishi web site - http://www.mitsubishicars.com/MMNA/j...35&PID=3196496

wow, sunroof. Lets keep adding more weight to the car.
Full leather? Why not a back up camera and air conditioned seats. How about a BMW-like mechanism that brings you your seat belt when you put your key in.
The ride is also not soft enough, why not just install an air suspension like in Jaguar's XF/XJ?

::sigh::
Mitsubishi, stop trying to make the Evolution something it's not(and shouldn't be). "MR" just completely lost it's meaning to me. And this is from somebody who had an '06 MR.

Anyone else as pissed as I am at the direction their taking with the Evo?

I don't mind that they're doing these things but they need to keep an RS trim to balance things out.

BTW, they took out the wing? Since when did having a large wing for more downforce become less "grownup". Someone should tell all of those who race in professional racing about this. Maybe they'll follow suit.

Interesting tail lights, looks like they realized how popular the RA tails have become.

MR definately doesn't stand for Mitsubishi Racing anymore. they are making it the slowest model of all. It's sad that Mitsu keeps trying to turn the EVO into a BMW and just keep adding weight, and taking away speed. If they want to add all these extra features, fine, add some power too. the car should be at least 350hp from the factory anyway. they need to find some way to get the weight on that car down.

The new EVO X MR should be called evolution X luxury edition
EVO X LE instead of MR
haha
wonder how the performance will drop with the added weight
well
i guess mitsubishi also have no choice
they have to understand that we have aging population
so they design car more suited for...ahem ahem

I hope that's not the 2010 GSR. I thought both of the Evo trims were supposed to be getting the RA tail lights?

have you guys ever heard of the STi Limited?
its the exact same car. a subaru impreza wrx sti limited has no spoiler, sunroof, and leather seats and only comes in gold or white. only 900 or so were made.

some people dont want to drop 40 grand on a car that looks as if a 20yr. old owns it. and getting rid of the spoiler does that

I don't understand the association between a 20 year old and a large spoiler.
Seems like nobody watches professional racing or understands what "downforce" is.
I'm sorry, but the Evo should be a car that symbolizes "form over function".
If you think it looks too much like a car for 20 years olds, buy yourself a corvette or a Cadillac.

Sorry for the rant, but things like this tick me off alittle.
I've also heard similar things said by a couple car magazines & reviewers and to be quite honest, I think it's ruining it for the rest of us. Mitsubishi listens to all of that.
