Some one prove me wrong about the Evo XI
As I read through many of these threads I read a lot of:
"Should I wait for the EVO XI instead of purchasing a X"
"How much more power will the XI have then the X"
"What upgrades will the Evo 2010 have over the X"
"I don't wan't to buy an Evo X because all the problems of the X will be sorted out when the 2010 comes out"
And the list goes on... Can someone give me a link to where there is some hard evidence of Mitsu even acknowledging putting a 2010 EVO into the U.S Market?
I point all this out because those waiting to buy a 2010 X instead of the X you may be SH-t out of luck. From what I hear there won't be a XI. After hearing from several dealers and individuals Mitsu is not putting a XI into the U.S market, and the EVO X may be it.
I hope I'm wrong as I just love the machine! But unfortunately I may not be wrong. So those bringing the 2010 Evo up all the time, and saying they will be waiting for the 2010 evo please provide a link of Mitsu saying there will be a Evo 2010.
Sorry everyone I ment this thread to be towards the 2010 Evo and not the XI.

I guess it does somewhat go both ways, but after skipping a year, and no information, nor talk, or evidence, or advertising I think you should show the proof because it looks more negative than positive. Several dealers have actually mentioned that the X is it also. I really wish I was wrong, and they bring out a XI though, but dosent look good.

I was told by the dealer that there is a 2010 model coming however it is still going to be an "X" I was told we should see them in 6months. I don't think there advertising, as they want to try and sell most of the 08's that are still hanging out in dealer stock.

In before the merge.
There hasn't been an official announcement of the 2010 Evo, but we haven't heard otherwise, so we would only expect there to be one. Apparently skipping a model year for the Evo IX didn't hurt sales much, so I'm sure that helped in the decision to skip the 2009 model year. I couldn't see them skip 2010, and it doesn't seem like they'll pull the Evo out of the US market just yet.
All speculation right now.

I guess they did release the 08 really really late, tis is why there was no 09... But all the evidence is pointing towards there not being a XI.... Dealers, no information released, no advertising, no nothing.... They said this summer, well this summer is just around the corner and nothing. Dealers are saying Mitsu may not be comming out with a XI.
I just don't know why people are saying the XI is comming out with this... or may have this... Or I want to wait for a XI... When there may be nothing around the corner.

1) If you like the X, want the X, and can afford the X, why wait? Enjoy it now. Life is short. You could drop dead of an aneurism 6 months from now having never owned an evo.
2) I'm sure it will have the same engine and turbo and it'll probably be more expensive. Why not just buy the X, mod it and tune it to get the power you want?
3) Who knows. Carbon fiber trims? Whatever it is, it's nothing you can't add yourself.
4) There aren't that many problems. I know many happy Evo X owners with no issues at all - except for maybe the cluth going out but that's easily fixable with an aftermarket upgrade.

I don't think an EVO XI will be out untill 2011. Hell, the X has only been for sale for a bit over a year in the US.
