Actually, the eclipse, the Galant and the Endeavor are made here in the US in the Illinois plant.

Oops, didn't see CatalystGod's reply
The Normal, IL plant is actually planning a temporary shut-down soon.. The Eclipse sells okay, but the Galant and Endeavor don't.... And they have an overstock of Eclipses anyway.

I can't seem to find their PR statements anymore (Found them through Google recently), but they've been dropping every year from something like 200,000 in 2003 to ~100,000 or less for 2008..

Mitsu Motors is relatively new, but it is a branch of Mitsu Heavy Industries which is quite old, and the entire Mitsu Corp is probably one of the oldest companies in the world.

Mitsu is also the largest general trading company in Japan, but that doesn't mean they'll hold onto a company that's losing them money.

All Subaru Imprezas - from the base model all the way to the WRX STI - are made in Japan. I believe Foresters are made in Japan as well.

Yeah I mean... where I bought my evo, the dealership is always empty. Combine a poor car lineup, with poor service, and no real popular car like a Camry, Corolla, Accord, etc... I wouldn't be surprised.
