Let me point out some of the key elements here TOKYO — Mitsubishi Motors has introduced the oddly named Galant Fortis sedan in the home market. Americans already know this same car as the replacement for the Lancer that went on sale here in March.
The Mitsubishi Galant Fortis is coming to the U.S. soon, also to replace the Lancer here. (Photo courtesy of Mitsubishi Motor Sales of America)

I've raced motocross for 20+ years. Back in the two-stroke days there usually was a lot of difference between the top manufacturers. Now days they are so close it's all preference in how a rider feels on the bike. The reviews between the bikes are so crazy in how they determine a winner. Bike A. is taller than Bike B. and doesn't appeal to riders that are 5'6" as much as bike B. Just stupid comparisons.

im not a racer, i dont do auto-x, and for the 10th time, i dont rely solely on magazines to form my own opinion, although i have been subscribing to 4 publications since early 90's.
i only mention magazine reviews to say that my own opinions are not that far out in general... personal opinions can vary. some can be insane, and some can make a lot of sense. i have an opinion, just like u have one, but oddly enough, professionals just happen to generally agree with mine.
i and my extended family happened to own many different cars in the past several years. civics, and jaguars, lexuses and lotuses. currently, my household owns 4 cars, and if i include my parents, brothers and in-laws, thats 11 cars total.
we can argue the motive(s) and intentions of the car testers and magazine editors all day long, but we cannot argue what i feel when i myself drive these cars.
when i drive a civic, the shifting is like cutting butter with a hot knife, and in a Lancer its like wrestling a bear.
when i drive an accord, i feel like its a bmw on sharp turns, and when i drive a gallant, i feel like im in a boat, on water.
when i drive a Murano or Mazda CX7, i fee like im in a sedan, and when i drive an Outlander, i feel like im in a 3story house.
notice, Im not discussing quality, cause any car can break down. my S6 spent 5 weeks at the dealer, when it was just 8months old....
Im also not arguing looks/exterior design, cause "to each, his own". one mans pretty is another mans ugly...
What i am arguing is that the drive and ride in a typical Mitsu vehicle, is subpar, soft, bouncy, jolty and rough, in comparison to most of its competitors. the cars have bad transmissions, and offer only average fuel economy. the cars are also typically overweight, always the slowest in any race, and have bad ergonomics and interior layout, as well as horrible vibration/rattling issues.

Are you talking about all cars besides the Evoltuion here? Because the Evo X did very well in races against competitors (usually second place).

Ours in hawaii didn't close they just redubbed it a Hyundai dealership. Since Hyundai is running the Mitsu World Engine anyways it really doesn't matter its all the same. Mitsu is not going to hit financial trouble they have so many contracts with other companies running there parts its not even funny. Hyundai (The Genisis is a RWD 4b11t), Citroen, Puegoet, Chyrsler,Volvo, and Nissan. There not going anywhere for awhile. Just restragitzing the North American Market is all. Honestly and again stone me I am glad the to see the EVO go. With the 5G eclipse RA model we get our platform back which the EVO stole from us.

In Brooklyn, NY, 2 mitsu dealerships closed in the last 4 years. i remember i was the first guy at the door, when they just got in a brand new shiny LY Evo VIII in 2003. I remember i had a long discussion with the dealer. the guy even back then was telling me how they cant sell a single car

Reading comprehension > both of you. Especially you, HondaHunter.
That article is from August 23, 2007. The "Galant Fortis" is already here. The Lancer is not dead. It's still called the Lancer. It's been out since last year...
The EVO X is built on the Galant Fortis (LANCER!) body. The whole Galant Fortis thing is just a goofy Japanese market naming scheme because they still sell the last-gen Lancer there..
The new Lancer (Galant Fortis) is also a million times nicer and better built than the previous generation car.

if you're into interior, you are missing the point entirely of what the evo is all about. the fastest from point A to point B. Like a porsche 911 interior pales in comparison to a basic lexus interior. FWIW, it is a performance sedan with genes taken from the homologation evo I-VI. the VII-IX interior is actually an upgrade from the legendary 6.5 TME.
