I wouldn't call it a sportronic (I certainly hope Mitsu isn't calling it that) since sportronic is the term used to describe automatic transmissions with a manual shift option. The SST isn't quite like that.

Paddle-shifted cars are gay as aids. Especially the one's that cost under $100k and I say this because SMG sucks, DSG is ok, and all of the other BS paddle cars I've been in have all been garbage.
I drove an e-gear Gallardo and it was a disappointment; at low rpm's the engagement would choke and then engage. Sometimes the computer would get all trippy and it seemed like it would slip the clutch when not on it hard. If Lamborghini can't get it down I'm sure Mitsubishi's is no better. Ferrari's engagement system is pretty lame as well, I'd much rather a manual transmission than this "F1 technology." When it boils down to it, it's just another fancy AUTOMATIC because you don't manually do anything but press a button.

It's not an automatic, it's an automated manual. Also, you just seem to be out of the loop, people have been discussing this new transmission since last year. Search the forums for "SST" and read the dozens upon dozens of threads that come up regarding the upcoming SST Evo MR and SST Ralliart.

DSG is more than okay and I'm guessing the same for the SST.
Welcome to two years ago???

While DSG works, it's boring. Takes ALL of the excitement out of driving not to mention its in vehicles that are usually also uninspiring to drive.

next time search the SST and be informed instead of posting and arguing about something you are not familiar with. The term "sportronic" was used by mitsu in most of it automatic transmission with the ability to shift electronically by steering wheel controls or the +/- on the auto lever. The X MR is a totally different transmission which is a manual transmission(without a torque converter) using clutches to change gear similar to the DSG of VW. It is not sportronic. you probably talked to an uninformed sales rep.
