I have 100,000 miles on my 04 Ralliart.

Recently (in the last 5000 miles or so) I have had a ticking noise in my engine. It is coming from the top part of the engine.

I tried doing the valve lash adjustment following the "how-to" section, as well as trying a lite additive (marvel mystery oil). I am hesitant to put any "heavy" cleaner or additive in my engine for fear of destroying the seals (amongst other parts).

The additive changed the ticking a bit, but it did not go away. Adjusting the valve lash didn't do much of anything. Basically, it has stayed the same.

So, I have come to the conclusion that replacing the lifters is the most sure-fire way to get rid of this problem for good.

The only problem is.... I can't find anyone who sells lifters for my 04' ralliart! I called my local mechanic (not the dealer) and they called 5 suppliers and came up short.... they quoted me dealership prices.... something like $880/350 for the intake/exaust. Those prices being completely absurd....

Where can I get these for a decent price??? There MUST be a place... many people have had issues with lifter noise, not to mention some ralliarts were recalled for lifter replacement.

Please help me shed some light on a reasonable solution.

I HAVEN'T BEEN ON LATELY BUT I HAVE STILL BEEN MODDING THE RA QUITE NICELY. JUST RECENTLY ADDED A JET-HOT STERLING COATED OBX HEADER/DP COMBO WITH A VIBRANT HI-FLOW WELD ON CAT. ON TOP OF THAT HAD A LOCAL EXHAUST SHOP MANDREL BEND ME A 2.5 CAT-BACK EXHAUST. EVERYTHING INSTALLED VERY NICE. THE TOP-END GAINDED VERY NICE AS I THOUGHT IT WOULD. ANYWAYS PICS OF ISTALLED PARTS WILL BE POSTED SOON. I AM VERY HAPPY WITH THESE MODS!!!
