For those of you who live in cooler climates, especially those who live in Canada/states where it gets to -15*C (4*F), I would recommend heading over to Part Source/Autozone and getting your battery tested in conjunction with your winter prepping.

I just went today to get my battery tested for winter and it turns out my battery can only pump out 401 CCA. Brand new stock battery is rated at 520 CCA, so I am in need of a new battery before it gets really cold.

To remove your battery you need a 10 mm wrench/socket as well as a combination wrench/pliers if your negative terminal is finicky. I am in need of a new negative terminal so I'm hoping to post my first how-to on that in a few weeks if I have time.

and fyi I have an 05 Ralliart with the stock battery from the factory, so I guess it has lasted me about 4 years of use;)
hope this helps and hope everyone enjoys what's coming:p

I'm just curious as to what price would be reasonable to cover the value of an ECU if one were just sent out to a client with the expectation that they return their stock unit?

In the past I took a $100 down for Mazdas but I really got burned where people wouldn't send their stock one back. What is a stock ECU worth to people anyway?

Would you be pissed off if someone asked for a $200 deposit on an ECU but gave it back when you sent your stocker back?

I've had my Lancer for 2 months now. And I've got tranny problems. When the engine is cold, and I wan't to start from a stop doing a right hand turn, the car often jump (only the inside wheel seems to do that). Like the clutch would'nt wan't to slip or something. But it only does that when the engine is cold.

Also, my clutch pedal feels really hard, but only until I've passed the friction point. I've been driving lots of different cars in my life, (I used to be a parking valet) and never I drove a car with a clutch that hard.

My friend keeps telling me I have some kind of upgraded clutch (but he drives an Honduh so he doesn't know sh*t about cars or he wouldn't be driving one), but when I got the car, the hood hinges were almost rusted in place, like the hood had never been opened or not in a long time. I bought the car completely stock. Who would change the clutch to an upgraded unit, without touching anything else in the car? Also the car only has 110 000kms on it, isn't that a little bit early for a clutch change?

I need help, has anyone had that problem before me? Any help would be welcome!

Hey, I got an '04 RA with a battery that is continuously dying.

Started about a month ago... first time was right after (within a few hours of driving it out of the shop) having a Clutch Masters aluminum flywheel and stage 1 clutch installed, and it has happened at least 5 more times since then.

The battery is only 1 year old. I had them test it and they say everything seems to be fine with both it and the alternator.

On weekends I drive 50miles from college to home to stay the weekends. After making the trip it dies with almost 100% certainty the next time I go to start it up. Then it will run fine the rest of the weekend/week.

I am going this weekend to have them test it under load, but wondered if anybody has any ideas? They wont replace the battery under warranty unless their gauge tells them it is reading poorly, which it hasn't yet.

Thanks :helpme:

Hi everyone

I was fixing up my gauge which I accidentally knocked over and pulled the wires out (which were tapping power from the Headunit). I think the force was hard enough that even the ground wire came off - and therefore might have short circuited the electrics. My car is an AUDM 06 Lancer ES (which has the Ralliart Engine). Currently, the following are not working:

1) Dash clock - no lights; nothing.
2) Interior light - does not turn on at all.
3) Headunit doesnt work at all - only the Pioneer one doesnt work, i tried the OEM Mitsu one and that seems to start up.
4) Headlights - will not work when car is off (key in ignition at LOCK position. Warning sound also not evident.
5) Central locking not working - both manually and with remote.
6) Trip meter will reset itself every time I turn off the car.
7) Everything at the dash doesnt work when the key is in ACC position.

Tested and working when the engine is started and key position is in ON:

1) Air-con - all fans, heater and cooler working.
2) Headlights - low beams and high beams work fine when car is on.
3) Signals
4) Brake lights
5) Cluster lights
6) Cruise control light
7) Cigarette lighter
8) Power windows
9) It drives.

What do you guys think is wrong? I havent done any diagnostics yet.

Thanks :)
