I was using the stock Ralliart ECU and doing some logging to try get some tuning done on the car.

I noticed when i boost , boost pressure maintains at 1.3 bar on the "OFF" setting which is about correct. I was told mine was the upgraded spring in the actuator...

Any way the strange part is once i lifted off the throttle, My Boost Spiked to 1.9 bar or to be exact 1.87bar! But while pulling Boost Remains stable...

Any idea what happened?

Ok, so about a month ago i was at the track and all of a sudden a oil seal popped out . Towed the car off the cicruit and towed it home . I did not turn the car on at all after trying 2 times when i was sitting in the middle of a paddock.

My mechanic had a look at it and fixed the oil seal. All of a sudden, the oil light came on so obviously first though 'not a good thing'. He tore a few bits and pieces out and got to the balance shaft. I had spun a bearing and chewed a fair bit off the shaft.

So we take this out all is fine, however, now the revs want to drop extremely quickly and then (im guessing is normal), the oil light comes on around 900 rpm or a little lower when the revs are dropping (only when foot is on the clutch though, when its in neutral it idles fine). Atm, ive just upped the idle to around 1700 to make sure this doesnt happen, but is there a way i can fix this and have the car idle normally with the stock ecu ??

Drove the car home and felt fine , only revving it to around 6000rpm atm though.

I also noticed a relatively loud ticking noise coming from in the engine, should this be any concern to me atm ?

Note: the engine is a fully built 2L .

Thanks for any advice or help ,

Cheers

Hi

Can anyone with an aftermarket reg be so kind as to post a pic of where they mounted it??

A pic of an AEM reg mounted would be even better!!{thumbup}
There seems to be no room nearby.

Thanks in advance.

Hoping for close to 700whp out of the car with out pushing the tune to crazy.
Should have it on the dyno later today or tomorrow.

I call my car a dyno queen because its 11:1 comp Alum rod motor with a electric water pump and runs on E98 fuel. So it allways seems to be atleast 50hp over the avg guy on the same turbo.

Can someone explain why we need a stock 2 speed fuel pump setup, and what are the pro's/con's of having 12 volts to the pump full time? Looks like my crossover to high speed is at about 2700 rpms, and while still under vacuum during light/normal accelaration, so it's hard to believe that the low speed is to keep fuel pressure from skyrocketing at idle, since light cruise doesn't consume much fuel through the injectors, and the fpr is still having to bypass basically the same amount of fuel. I do see a fuel pressure rise when this happens, and I'd like to have a more stable fuel pressure (relative to intake manifold pressure) for tuning purposes. Has anyone run their pump in hi speed all the time?

Also, there was a thread somewhere, that discussed the idea that the built in venturi (necessary for the saddle type fuel tank we have) on the fuel return to the tank caused a lot of backpressure (ie could cause high fuel backpressure, effectively making a fpr useless at low engine speeds). This venturi needed to be hogged out a bit when running dual pump setups. Can someone point me to that thread, I can't find it anywhere.

Thanks
