egr solenoid "boost control" with external WG?

i was using the EGR solenoid for ecu boost control with great success on a FP red with a forge WG.
now i changed my setup to a AMS 35r HTA with a tial external WG and i can't figure out how to connect the vacuum hoses to make this work.

anyone knows how to do this?

i installed the "out" of the solenoid to the bottom niple of the WG but it doesnt work at all. the WG has a 2nd niple on the top but i don't know how to use that one.

Tactrix Cable Issue

Looked on here still havent found an exact answer. I purchased this cable from Evoscan, OpenPort 1.3U, and when i hook it up to my evo 9, all the ACD lights bling and ABS, or just the tarmac light. I have evoscan 2.6 installed. Any ideas or answers would help. Bought the cable a week ago if that helps.

I not to long ago switch my ROM from 96420008 to 94170015 and was wondering if the idle would change? When I come up to a stop light the car tries to die but then the idle will pick back up. Now starting yesterday night the car does die.

When I put the 0008 ROM back in the car is fine. I did also mess with the idle screw on the TB and it seemed to work for a bit, but like i said yesterday it started stalling now.

pro tune w/ your own switch

so i wanted to do my own tune but im a big noob on this so ive decided to get a pro tune so i dont f-up my car. and also it cost just abut as much as a wideband so ile just get the protune. but my tune guy wants another $100 to do the map switch with the ICS. I already have the openport 1.3 and ive saved my stock program twice. so if i got the pro tune could I save his tune then make my own mapswitch with his tune and my stock useing my ICS? how can I do this?

Rear O2 and fuel triims

Do we need this to help with the fuel trims? I've seen where some people are having problems with them not moving. I know some vehicles have to have it hooked up to help the ECU with the trims....32bit Subaru's to name one.

hey ok for those who dont know. i met in a car accident about a month ago totaled my car (icon avatar) and just got another 2g dsm (talon). so i took the ecu (evo 8) out the old car and put it in this yesterday and no matter what i did it wont connect to evoscan or ecuflash .. i tried 2 cables and 3 laptops and 3 different versions of both softwares... so my conclusion ecu got banged up pretty bad in the accident and is now shot...{thumbdwn}:mad:... the car has evo injectors and a 16g turbo the flash that on the ecu is tephra 5.10 and scaled for 450cc (stock dsm injectors) now its running pig rich wont idle properly because of the cams and injectors... did a pull for the hell of it and no check engine light flashed .. im thinking that it didnt flash because the ecu is barely able to run the car and the mods are just a no go. so no flash cel on knock .. so i was wondering if anyone in ny nere or in westchester would like to swing by put in the evo 8 ecu just to make sure that mines is dead... and swap mines in there to make sure its dead so that i can confirm it and buy a new one... as well as there laptop and cable... thanks for your support and help in advance!!!!!

Maf and Injector scaling at the same time

Hey guys so I have searched and found the thread on how to maf scaling but heres the thing. Sounds like this how to assumes your injectors are either stock or already scaled and dialed in as you use your fuel trims to adjust the maf scaling. Here is my dilemma.

I just did a major upgrade I went from NA to FI, swapped in 440cc injectors where my stockers where only 240 (pathetic I know lol), and port matched my intake ports to my head. I am having trouble scaling my injectors I am having to scale them at 336 and latencys over 5 :crap: From what I have read most injectors are scaled around 12% below rated flow correct? This would put me at 387 and I see most posts saying latencys are around like .8, 1.2, etc. I need some suggestions on how to scale these together or how I would scale one then the other and which one as it seems they are both scaled according to fuel trims.

Since this rom works for all evo8's now, I figured I'd steer everyone's attention towards this! Thank you logic and others who have worked to get this solved! I am merely a tester and wanted to get the word out :D

We've already been able to get around the standard CEL that comes with a testpipe through an earlier patch that is now standard in Tephra's ROMs, but some of us have re-used the wiring harness running down under the passenger seat for a wideband and want to completely eliminate the rear o2. Without the following, you'll still get a CEL because the heater circuit will be broken.

Changed "4A0B" to "0009"  (i.e. 0x0009) and that's it.


I tried it, it seems to work great!  I have the rear o2 completely unplugged.  I'll make sure nothing silly becomes of it over the next week but all seems fine for now.

I have a question..i bought another evo and it has stock ECU only with a SAFC, my tuner told me that if i dont want to spend cash on a EMS i can get a tactrix cable...but i have some questions..



how many ecu flash programs are outhere?

which is the most user friendly

which is the one that i would use using tactrix?evoscan?

if i get the cable used where can I get the software?



what are the pro's and con's of using this over a EMS?

does the evoscan give you the option to flash the CEL on Knock?

what about If i want to return to stock map.?



does the software comes with a base map or i should start from the stock map,or from zero?

Does anyone know what "Scaling Factor" does in the EvoScan RequestId Editor?



Most of the time its 1, but a few items have it 0.01.  No clue what it does.
