Is it that easy?

Hey guys...quick question...tried searching:

An EvoIX that I am looking at has full TBE (with test pipe) ...

The owner still has the stock exhaust and stock cat...

For emissions (or smog), can I simply install the stock cat (in place of the test pipe) and be done? Are there any other return air hoses that hook up to the cat? ...perhaps running to an air pump...

Thanks!

Just putting in my 2 cents, you should be able to just run the test pipe and if you want to change it to the cat, it's pretty easy...all you need is a tool for the 02 sensor which you can buy at any autoparts store.

Thanks dude.

Yeah I was just curious if there is a tube giving air to the cat (from an air-pump of some kind). I know this was the case on my rx7 turbo...but perhaps its a whole different system on the Evo's...

^^ There should only be O2 sensors hooked up to your exhaust. So yes for smog you could just throw on the cat, and you should pass.
