Drives: 05 lancer evolution 8

Just bought lightly modded evo 8 need help

Bought a used 05 evo with some mods. It has evo 9 turbo ,megan turbo back exhaust, gsc 272s, injen licp and uicp forge bov and mbc tein s sport springs. The car runs 20 Lbs. I'm trying to get it to run 25 but everytime I turn up the boost it either stays at 20 or it starts spiking and fluttering. Do I need to adjust the bov when adjusting the boost? How do I get it to hold higher boost.

do not mess with your boost controller period!!! unless u r going to have it tuned for a higher boost level. the 20 pounds your seeing right now is what the car was probably tuned for! dont mess with it unless u want to see catastrophic failure!

I made the mistake of messing with it when I first got it and was having all sorts of problems. So I turned the bov and boost down . At this point I just want to get it to the 22 again.

Without a data logger or a wideband o2 and some knowledge tuning you will overboost and blow your engine. Just because it says 22 sittting or 22 while driving doesn't mean it doesnt spike to 28 or whatever. Thats why guys that turn up the boost have it tuned on a dyna or a street tune with a data logger or a wideband o2. Take it from me i blew my second engine in my 91 talon by getting anxious and turning up the boost and ran it really good at the track until the big end of the track and then it spun a bearing because it peak at 30 psi. YOU CANNOT JUST MESS WITH BOOST CONTROLLER WITHOUT SOME KIND OF DATA.

You dont need a dyno just find a good shop in your area. Ask some of the other evo owners from there what shop they use and go from there and for petes sake dont mess with boost controller or the ZOHAN. I thought it was funny anyway!!! hahaha
