1/4 Mile Time with ECU flashed 310 awhp - normally about 12.3 seconds?
What's the normal 1/4 mile time people are running with the GSR after doing the basic ecu flash (with maybe catback and drop in air filter) with about 310 awhp?
Looks like most X's get about 310 awhp (with 91 octane) with a flash and some report 12.3 seconds, so wondered what most got. Thanks.

12.3 seconds seems a little fast. I'm guessing 12.8-12.9

I would venture a high 12s guesstimate for the mods and whp the OP mentioned.
I'd expect low 12s from full bolt-ons and a tune at around 340-350whp.

I also think that's a little fast. I would say about a 12.7 @ 106mph.

I can only think of one person that ran that fast with minimal mods.

Hova00, in Wilmington told me he went 12.3 @110 with Ecutek flash and no other mods. I started this threat b/c I don't know what anyone else has done. Thanks for your input guys.

Yeah high 12's at 106-108 mph is more common, mid 12's at 109-110 with just an ecu tune is with great driving, great track conditions, and great tuning. I don't know what the stock turbo MPH record is but the compressor side definitely bottlenecks bolt ons that may help a ton with the low to mid range but only give a slight edge over stock intake & exhaust in the high RPM range.

Yeah, he's the one. Either a fluke run or he's that great of a driver. I don't think anyone else has gotten even close with very little mods.

No mods got me only 14.002 on a 90+ degree day. Driver start time wasn't great, that stock exhaust was not telling me the car was even running at the start.
TBE is a new toy that I gotta go check out with my drop-in for the 1/4.
(BTW, on the TRACK, that TBE is king. I got so much torque, I can beat tuned bimmer M5 straight 6's out of slow speed corners. Those are great engines at low RPMs, and pulling power is great. Beating them all day is even better :-D )
I wouldn't worry about your 1/4 time period. Its your own best time to beat. Both for driving skills and for measuring differences in your performance of the car from mod-to-mod. Why sweat comparing apples to green apples (one guys race is not the same as anothers, even if the cars are both "Evo's" by name)?

would a fmic lower the 1/4 mile times at all with a drop in filter and aftermarket quiet exhaust?

What I found was that the exhaust was a limiting factor. A drop-in will definitely allow more than even the stock paper stuff. An FMIC, I've read, will increase HP by itself 15-30 hp depending on other mods.
I doubt your aftermarket quiet exhaust isn't quite a bit better than the Mitsu one. My DSM service mgr pretty much told me to go out and buy a CB.
(He said TB would void the warranty. But I have proof that the donut and design of two-piece O2 housing/DP failed me and therefore the warranty first, before mods. Carbon all over the place where the o2 housing meets oem dp. I was simply choosing a non-OEM to REPAIR their manufacturing or design issue. What do I care which it is? My parts are better lol)

Quoted from this article:
http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Drives/Followup/articleId=125372[/URL] :
"According to our test equipment, the improvement in the Evo's performance is substantial. Launching from a standstill, the Vishnu Evo's stock clutch takes quite a beating but hooks up well enough to accomplish a 4.6-second sprint to 60 mph — 0.3 second better than stock. The quarter-mile time is trimmed to only 12.7 seconds — almost a full second better than the 13.6-second time we recorded with a stock Evo X GSR. Meanwhile, the car's speed increases from 101 to 109 mph."

Yeah, that's a sorta dated article. Vishnu never went into the scale that many national and even regional/semi-local places did with the mail in approach exchanging ECU's back and fro.
The key of that is that with a tune but nothing done to improve the exhaust, that OEM exhaust will just choke the Evo's power down.
GIve yourself a nod if you've got just a CBE. Adding a drop-in and FMIC will do wonders. I'm ready for a FMIC before I go for my tune. Oh, the UICP is also supposed to add a bit too by itself. Have you one of those since you've a FMIC upgrade?

I know it's been a while now, but has anyone been able to consistently run around 12.2 - 12.4 in the quarter mile with their GSR, and if so, what's the normal mods to get you there? I'm guessing:
1. Catback or Turbo back exhaust; 2. drop in air filter or new system like AEM; 3. larger front mount intercoolor; 4. upper or lower intercooler pipe; 5. tune to tie it all together?
Thanks.
