Honda guy that is working on getting an evo
Hey everyone. I have a turbo honda civic right now, but have always wanted to get an evo. I am working on starting out with like an 03 evo so I can get something that won't break the bank as I am also in the market for a house. Any tips you guys could give me to help me in looking for a car would be great. Stuff to avoid, stuff to look for, whatever. Thanks a bunch.

Dude I sold my my eclipse spyder GST and got myself an 05 Evo 8.....There is not comparison!!!
I would say go for it BUT ONLY IF YOU ARE PREPARED TO SPEND TONS ON IT!!! Even here in the middle east, Evo parts are WAY too expensive!!!
Before you buy the car...make sure you test drive it and listen for any loud whinning noise or any type of grinding...
The Evo differentials, are very very very expensive!! Take the car to your trusted mechanic and spend a few bucks to have him check every single bolt on it.....if its clean....GO FOR IT!!
Hope this helps dude....I got my evo with a whinning differential.......however I HAVE NO REGRETS!!!

My first car was a n/a setup on a Integra GSR... then the Evo. You're gonna LOVE it. Good luck, and do a lot of reading on here to avoid being scammed. I wish I did more research on here before I bought mine but it still was a pretty good deal at the end of the day and I love my evo.

You will forget about all the cars you ever owned after getting the evo. I know I did.

I have been reading about them for quite a while and just think it would be all I want in a car. I live in an area that can have pretty bad roads in the winter so the all-wheel drive would be nice and I am into autox so it will be nice for that and I also would love to have 4 doors again and a reliable car so I feel comfortable going on road trips. All in all I think an evo will be a great choice for me. I have driven a couple of them and have some guys I know from my area with them and they love theirs. Can't wait to find the right one.

I went from a 3rd gen rx7 to my evo.....and besides the rx7's sexy looks and crazy twin snail rotary, i have to say the evo is wayyyyyy better for me. Plus i have been dealing with 4g for the past 13 years and wanted something "family oriented" so the evo is by far the best car i have owned.

ttake your time and find the right one. They are a dime a dozen right now and for good prices.
I wanted one with low miles and bone stock, but could only find MR's in that position (didnt want six speed). I ended up opting for ahigher mileage heavily modded one cuz I got a really good deal on it and it was clean. go figure. lol
Its a pretty cool all around car so far. Time will tell on the drivetrain thoguh. Im paranoid as hell, but we shall see.
IMO I feel like Im driving a 4dr go cart sometimes. lol

Lucky you, im a lil different, I want to find only an MR since i wont be modding it and the only thing that would differ is the six speed tranny if it broke at a later time i can have that replaced. All i find are RS's, and GSR's no MR's
