What's the best clutch/flywheel for evo 9 mr???

Hey guys. I'm thinkin it's time for a new clutch/flywheel. I'm soon to be at about 400 hp (maybe 350 to 360 whp). I have heard bad things about the ACT. Maybe Exedy or Carbonetic would be best???? What clutch/flywheel do you guys like and why? Thanks!

go with the quarter master, it has a little clutch chatter but its a twin disc and will be able to hold well over a hundred launches on that setup,, it is also very affordable.....

I just installed the Quartermaster on my car and I'm in love. I can't believe how nice of a clutch it is even for a DD. I was anticipating a TON more chatter from word of mouth but honestly, it is NOT bad at all. I've heard a lot worse, with an Exedy twin, for example. I'm looking forward to trying it out at the track. It does screech every time you engage it thus far, but it's definitely something I can deal with.

ACT FTW! All my dsm buddies run ACT's and have NEVER had problems. We are using an ACT 2600 on a 600+ hp 1g talon and it has done great. Good for 10 sec passes all day long. My friends evo 8 has the ACT 2900 with ACT prolite flywheel and he loves it too. Done at least 100 launches and still doing GREAT. I'll be doing an ACT combo pretty soon on my car

btw I'm not saying the other clutches mentioned aren't any good. Just going by my experience with ACT

I researched all over and it seemed that the ACT Streetlite clutch kit and the Streetlite flywheel would suit me best. The only bad thing I've heard is the "high rpm lock-out", but that can be solved if the clutch is properly installed and everything is done professionally...I've heard. The price is high, but it's still much less than the Exedy. The install is as much as purchasing the new clutch also. I could of gone with something more fancy, but I know for sure that the ACT will do great. I just ordered the combo pack yesterday form lancershop. My Evo is slippin' like crazy and it's slow as hell.....Can't wait till' it gets here and the install is done.

You are 101% right! The ACT is very popular, and the price is reasonable compared to Exedy. I don't think it's neccessary to spend so much more on the Exedy. The ACT is good enough and it's very strong.
