Evolution IX MR vs. regular
I'm looking to get an Evo IX soon. I know the looks are mostly what are different. Is it just a different kit on it? what is the difference exactly between the Evo RS vs. MR?
thanks

If your not too sure on which evo to get, just get the base IX, it will probably be more then enough of what you are looking for.

So since you drive a GSR does that mean your not either a fan boy or a real man ? your just the middle man, the gay guy..

The MR is waste of money. Get the SE. It's basically the MR with a 5 speed. The Bilsteins in the MR will not make you faster. The SE is also lighter than the MR.

That was just lame. That type of reaction indicates that you are an emotional fruit or a woman on PMS. Look who's the gay now...

MR is not a waste of money kidz.. it depends on which way you look at it.. if you buy the car with plans of building, then you need a more solid base to start off like the RS.. a builders scratch car.
The GSR is also for those folks that want to play hard right aways while enjoying some commodity needed while driving, like radio, pwr windows, locks etc etc..
MR is just a more solid package for those wanting even more commodity and looks straight out the box while as an enthusiast enjoying a 6spd MT which it wasn't indeed engineered to withstand road racing abuse..
Now you can even get yourself an MR SE which so no sense of saying SE is this and that and btw the MR out of from the factory is indeed better than the RS and GSR.. I mean wasn't the MR designed to represent Mitsubishi at its fullest.. it stands for Mitsubishi Racing ppl.. not for Mr. Rich.. and its track proven
the 6spd is not weak.. it wasn't engineered for that purpose.. neither was the 5spd but it has its advantage when it comes to its desing.. just cuz we have the abilities to take the car to those power levels and the thing doesn't hold is no means to discourage it.. I mean my car sits @ 362AWHP and no signs of giving up unless I go higher but compared to evos running the 5spd at my avg powerlevel.. I always seem to have the upper hand when it comes it.. even at the track.. i just dnt see myself shifting into 5th no time soon.. so there is nothing wrong with it ppl.. so plz stop advising ppl not to get a MR cuz of our tranny.. what if the man is a 42yr old settled man having a mid-life crisis and just wants an adrenaline rush once in a while, without ever thinking of modding it.. and oh yeah.. how come on the cruises the MR's tend to stop for the RS/GSR guys to fill up @ the gas station.. eventhough our mileage is rated 18/24 and theirs 19/25.. wonder if 6th makes a diff.. not much but "EXISTENT"..
