new title for certain members ( EVOM GURU)
Hi guys,
after long discussions, EVOM staff has decided to create a new title for certain members that have been useful, helpful and supportive. this EVOM GURU title is granted to members that have been a positive force on this board and have pruven themselves to be an asset to the evom community. there are no forms that needs to be filled by members, the members will be decided by the staff and will need to be approved by Mark himself. altough there will be no prizes or special features for the newly awarded members, the new title will be a recognition to their efforts and their contributions to the community.
thank you
Snir

For my part, I'd add Deltarider99 to the list as well... the guy knows a lot of stuff and (to my knowledge) never bashes on anyone. Very helpfull person...
Of course, you Evo guys probably don't know much about us RA people though (Kayaalp and a few others excepted)...

I personally would recommend, Superz.. And I've seen some good stuff posted by SilverSurfer..
There are so many really good technical people out there, they always have good things to contribute.. My personal preference is for people who give ideas and advice without product bias, which is rare..

Jimbo, this title is not only about techincal stuff. the person has to be an active member of the board. a guy like Jack here is a perfect example, he is on alot and he helps people every chance he gets. even if it is about a general question that has nothing to do with engine tech....

I think this is a great idea. I'm pleased to see recognition for the positive contributions these nominees have made.
I've been on other forums that allow forum members to give karma, good or bad to contributing members. Remember, it can go both ways (-) karma eats away (+) karma. Low karma to post ratio is a good idea if you're dealing with a post or vendor whore.
Speaking of vendor whores, have you thought of rewarding members who are vendor zealots the title of "Vendor Whore". I think we got enough of them in this to constitute a problem. Maybe if users were branded as "biased" it might rein in their zealousy. Especially if the title were specific like "VishnuWhore" or "BuschurWhore". Then the vendors themselves might help keep them under control.
Sorry for the off topic rant. Congrats again.
