New eBay Buyer / Seller Rating System Installed!
You may have noticed a new feature that lists each member's trader rating with a number next to it. This is their buyer / seller rating basically... much like on eBay.
This should help members to gauge experieneces, etc before making any purchases.
To understand how the system works please read the following text from the faq section:
"About Feedback
Every forum member has a feedback rating which is displayed as a rating number in parentheses. If you click on the number a window pops up displaying comments from other members they've bought from, sold to, or traded with.
For example: Bob (12) means that the forum member with the user name Bob has received positive feedback from at least 12 other forum members.
How it works
The feedback rating system is easy. You receive:
+1 point for each positive comment
0 points for each neutral comment
-1 point for each negative comment
When to check it
Before you negotiate on an item, you can check the seller's feedback rating by clicking on the number next to the "Trader Rating", or from their profile page. Sellers may also want to view the feedback profiles of potential buyers to see how reliable they've been in the past.
How to leave it
After you make a sale, purchase, or trade, remember to leave feedback for the forum member you bought from or sold to via their profile page. This helps everyone in the community know what it's like to deal with that member.
Notes:
Feedback cannot be erased. The feedback you give is permanent, so be sure to make only fair and factual comments. Giving false or innacurate information will more than likely get you banned from the forum. If somehow you did leave incorrect feedback, please contact a forum Administator."
Any members who attempt to abuse the system or go off on rants w/ no helpful comments will most likely have their review deleted and possibly warned. Remember to keep all comments contructive, (whether positive or negative) because the object of this system is to help inform other members of your experience. "Comments like they suck" or "I hate them" just don't cut it.

First reply! WHAT WHAT!
Great idea Mark. We've really been needing a system like this.

Quick suggestion.... it seems that repeat posts by the same user will bump the count up.
I would say that if the same user had a good expereince, they may keep having the same good experience. Would it be fair for only one person to keep bumping the count up?
Just because one person has multiple good expereinces with a vendor and posts as such, does it make them a great vendor?
Wheras someone with a negative expereince is only going to post/vote once.
Any way to limit repeats?

Good point. Let me see if I can code that into the system. Maybe it'd be best to add the comment, but not count an extra point for multiple positives because that can skew the reality of things.

That's a pretty good idea, but I doubt it could be done. Closest thing to do would be to post your ebay ID in your FS threads.
