Stock Enkei
I'm having some major paint issues with my stock Enkei's, paint is bubbling up near the center cap, spokes and even on the backs of the rims!!! This isn't Mitsubishi fault, where do I go to resolve these issues, they can't lean on the anti perforation as these are aluminum wheels and we all know their not suppose to rust lol, do I contact Mitsubishi or Enkei??? Any ideas would be great!

I took my Winter tires/stock rims off in the spring and they looked a little rough, paint was bubbling and so forth (very minimal). I cleaned them up and covered them with a blanket... I live in Ohio and the weathers starting to get colder and I can feel the snow flakes coming on, so I pulled them out and they look terrible! I do have curb rash on two of them, one very, very small and the other noticeable, but the paint is effected on all 4 wheels, center caps and spokes namely, however it's even spread so far as the outer lip on the back side. I'm sure their going to try and fight me tooth and nail over this... If any of you guys are experiencing this, please by all means post pictures and info as I can use to our advantage, in hopes they will be warranted!

What product were you using to clean them? Most likley you used something too harsh and not good for aluminum wheels.

bubbling seems like they were exposed to some corrosive chemicals. If the paint was no good it would probably just flake or chip off..

Never used anything to clean them with, rather than dish washing soap. I seen someone else was having issues on the board as well.

go back..
if they are stock enkei rims.. i would hit up mitsu fasr and see if they are still under warranty. If so you should get them replaced for free.. if not.. look at spending about 825.00 a wheel not to include the tires.

Bubbling is usually caused from the wrong prep for them being painted. If the wheels were painted at the factory and had some type of oils/ greases on it, it will cause it eventually to bubble because it does not have something that it can bond too.

You can also get the wheels powdercoated, that's what I will do. $50 per wheel.

Good luck. It should be covered.
I'm moving this to the Evo X wheel/tires section since it will help other members more-so if it's in that section.
Please post up the decision once you hear from the dealership!
