235/40/18 snow tires on stock rims

Sorry for another tire size question, but can anyone confirm that 235/40/18 tires fit on our stock GSR rims? I have seen several posts stating that it SHOULD fit, but would like to hear that someone has actually done it before I put down my $800 on a new set of snow tires.
thanks
Ian

A narrower tire is desired in the snow, so it cuts into it, instead of gliding/sliding over the top of the snow.

If you are putting these on the EVO X stock Enkei wheel. Go with either a 225,235,245 size. But you definitely do not want to go larger than the stock size.

35/40/45 sidewheel height will work.

I think it was a typo and he meant 235. 135 would be super skinny lol.

Stock Advan tire is 8.0 inches wide. Stock wheel is 8.5 inches wide. So the stock setup is already a stretched tire, though to a very small extent. You can actually fit a bigger tire easily, probably even a 255. But considering these are for winter, if you see a lot of snow, the narrower the better, but do not overdo it. I have winter tires on my stock wheels at stock specs and 265 summers on a different set of wheels. As for the specific case you posted, yoou should be fine with a 235 40 18 for sure. hope that helps.

I'm getting a set of LM60's sized 225/45/R18. I didn't think 225 would fit on a 8.5 inch wheel, but the guy at the place I got it from assured that it will. I'll see how they work in the snow this season.

I'm looking for snow tires myself and considering the 235's. The only thing is that the wheel will be smaller than stock. Will 235/45's fit?

Yes, but your speedo will be fast by like 1-2 mph.

Here is a tire size calculator. Best one ever....

I just bought 4 Blizzak WS60 tires in 235/40R18. Should be mounted next week just in time for Buffalo's first blizzard.

I'll post a review after the first snowfall.
