^I hear they can get a little slippery after use, and nasty in the wet when tread gets lower, but they used to be the king of the "bang for the buck" hill.

I have always liked nitto. Very good life and very good traction. We have run them on track plenty of times. +1 Nitto 555's

I have the RE11 right now. They are almost 95% as good as stock when it comes to dry grip, they are unbelievably better in wet conditions compared to stock. I am talking "standing water" and "puddles" kind of wet conditions.

I got my tires from Firestone. They are:
-Potenza GRID 019 All season, H-rated. They came with a 50k mileage warranty (very surprising imo). I got these for a killer deal $530 mounted and balanced. There is the same model but v-rated for $25/tire (150+mph)if you want one for top speed. I was told that when they give a speed rating for a tire, they measure it for 2 or 3 hrs constantly, and I think a h-rated is good enough for a dd.

it sounds like u want a "street tire" that can do everything.
in that case u want a tire that has a treadwear between 140 & 200 as a good starting point. Advan AD07's are 180 just like the stock. another option is the Advan Sport. i like yokohamas if u haven't noticed & their manufacturing plants are ZERO emissions which is cool too. i run the discontiuned Advan A032R's but those may be too sticky for you at 60 treadwear. good luck

AD07s were discontinued and replaced with AD08s, and the EVO X came with Advan A13Cs not A046. Just so the OP doesn't get confused.

i've had the Star Spec's on my ride for the last 10K miles and i love them. I'll probably see another 10K miles on them before they are toast. So about 20K total, versus 13K miles that I got out of the stock Advans.
Some reasons i likey:
Great overall grip and handling
Predictable at the limit
Fairly quiet at the limit
Hard to beat price for the performance
The only bad thing is the stiff sidewalls make everyday driving a tiny bit bumpier than stock, but that is expected from a high performance tire.
hope this helps

Well, I am running them on wider wheels with a different offset. So I have altered the scrub radius. That's probably why I see the difference. But if and when I get coilovers/swaybars etc on there, I expect them to perform MUCH better. Ultimate grip is actually much better than the stockers, but when I make a sudden turn, I can feel a little slip at the beginning of the turn on the pavement (due to the above mentioned reasons I am guessing). running aftermarket wheels/tires without a matching suspension setup is like running a car with mods and no tune IMO.

Got the 960AS on today. They are alot quieter than the stockers. And so far i have not seen any performance drop. But again, i have not pushed the car. Im sure the stockers are way more sticky.
When they took my stock tires out, i noticed the back tires on the inside were worn out pretty bad. Is this a camber issue in the rear??? The car is over a year old and almost 15k miles. I take it the dealer wont do nothing about it, and i will have to pay for a new alignment correct?

I just special ordered those for my camry and cousin already has them on his TL. They are very good tires for what they are and how much they cost. As for the bald tires, yes, it is because of stock camber setup which runs a bit negative by default for performance. I was shocked to see my tires go at 12000 with all 4 showing the same characteristics. I believe the tires are actually rated for 12000 miles. So your 15000 is actually a stretch.
I went with costco for my winter setup and got a lifetime alignment with firestone. I run as close to 0 degrees as possible now to avoid such tire issues.

I love my Potenzas but they can break loose easy one smooth pavement. I make a lot of noise going around this one corner and i'm not doing anything spectacular in it. LOL
Great in rain though. Can't wait for snow. I loved doing donuts in the OEM tires though.

I have RE01R's, but they don't make those anymore, love em! Try RE11 or the RE07!
