They are surprisingly good in the wet. I would say keep them as I like them more then starspecs and advans.
Only thing is they do not take large puddles of standing water to well but in dry and semi-wet conditions they are amazing

I think you will be fine. It has been raining a week straight here and I hit puddles. It is not like you will spin out.
Just slow down when it rains

Ya, slow down if you're spinning out.
Remember your stock advans are likely toast and have near 0 grip in the rain.
I've been fine on the NT-05's in all the wet conditions I've been in.

I have NT-05's, but have only driven in the rain once when I got caught in it.
I would suggest an all season on the stock wheel and NT-05's on a different wheel.

I have them on my car and I was surprised at the grip the tires have in the rain. You'll be fine.

Keep two hands on the wheel when going over large puddles, they'll catch you off guard.
These tires are good in the rain for being super high performance tires.

drove home today on my well worn (10k miles) NT05s in the damp to light rain. Even at ludicrous speed there were no issues... more grip than I was prepared to try and use

That's weird...I almost hydroplaned the other day when it was raining lightly. It didn't help that I was in the far left lane. It wasn't even going through a puddle but I guess there was a sheet of water covering the area. I've read reviews saying how they are "ok" in the rain. The best thing to do is to drive your car on these tires and see what the limits are.
BTW, the stock tires are better than the NT-05s in wet conditions.

I agree with Tantrum. Stock tires are better than NT-05s in wet conditions. In my experience, however, NT-05s are less prone to hydroplaning than Star Specs (as well as a little quieter).
You might want to just take it easy when there's standing water...

Any tire will hydro if you're going fast enough in a good rain. If your driving within your limits you'll be fine. If you have doubts slow down.

Wet tires...
How funny? I just bought me some new tires also to handle the rain (in SA town, YOU CAN'T COMPLAIN ABOUT THE RAIN BROTHER U KNO WE NEED IT) they offered me those same tires but didn't have them available so i got ( http://www.bigo.com/item.asp?id=685) these in 255's. They are a little more expensive, but man they handle the wet like crazy. Unfortunately, now i have to buy mudguards cause they are sending all that water to the side of the car..
Where did you hydroplane at?
