Evo X struts on '09 Ralliart?

Hey guys. I have a buddy trying to sell his X. He is giving me first dibs on most of his parts, since he wants to return the car back to stock. My question is this: Will stock Evo X struts fit on the '09 Ralliart? He has the Works lowering springs and he is willing to sell me his stock struts to go with them, since the Evo X and RA struts differ. I am a newb at this stuff and I know nothing about suspension.

I was hoping even maybe vendors/mechanics/shops would be willing to look into this, because if this system does work like this, this is potentially a big selling point for vendors and shops for Ralliart customers. Let me know what you all think. I will post this in the Ralliart section, too. Thanks.

I don't see why they wouldn't. Our struts are just stiffer.

Ours are an inverted monotube design. The standard Lancer is not.

it could still work, 2004 STI struts are inverted monotubes and fit fine on a regular WRX.

it will be tough to tell for sure until you try or you have the 2 side by side.

things that could be different are: the lower mounting clevis, both the width and the spacing of the bolt holes. also the spring perch height and overall length of the shocks.

Toredine,

Since the swift springs and stock gsr strusts are just sitting around in my garage you should come on over one weekend and we can try them out. I have installed/uninstalled the suspension so many times in my car now we can test fit one of the fronts in about 15 minutes.

Let me know!

that may or may not make a difference on fitment though. fitment depends on strut housing, not shock orientation.

I am pretty confident it will work. If there is anyone near Costa Mesa, CA I will gladly let you use my stock suspension for trial fitment.
