Don't know if anyone has tried this but ford uses a metal band around the inside of the rim to hold their TPMS sensors onto the rim. My buddy used basically a giant hose clamp and it worked great on his volks! Just FYI

I'm interested in whether or not this ^ works.

My TPMS light used to bother the hell out of me until I got a CEL from my HFC. Now that bothers me even more so I don't notice the TPMS. I'm almost looking forward to putting my winter wheels w/ TPMS back on so I don't have to hold the info button every time I start the car or open a door.

It could be worse, you can't engage the competitive driving mode or disable VSC at all on Corvettes if the TPMS is malfunctioning. I'm hoping all the A-SWC(whatever- you know what I mean) fully functions on the evo x sans tpms

My dealership only charged me $35 to re-calibrate the TPMS for my winter tires. Well worth not having to continually reset the message.

Hey guys. I moved this over to tires/wheels so it can be helpful for members looking for a solution (once an official one is found). Thanks for looking into this and please post the solution once one is found!

There is a thread that a member made where he put all his TPMS sensors in a pipe bomb looking thing. Then he just filled it up with the correct pressure and put it in the trunk. Another member just zip tied them together and put them in the trunk. I would look for that thread for more info.

The bands worked on my car! They just wrapped around the inside of the rim!

Back when I got my G35 (and 350z) we had this issue (TPMS is old technology.) For aftermarket wheels, we just banded the TMPS sensor to the inside of the wheel, like the poster above me did.

The sensors on those cars did not use batteries, rather they had some sort of regenerative energy cell that built power on centrifugal force. I'm pretty sure all other cars use this as well, so not sure how well they would work in a steady environment like a "pipe bomb" apparatus.

There's a thread somewhere where a company is making a device that you can calibrate on your own. This would only be worthwhile if you had two sets of TPMS sensors for two sets of wheels. Otherwise if you just removed them you will have to deal with the light.
